Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “I had been looking for a new monitor for awhile and had been researching for a new one. I decided I wanted a high quality display, but burn in was a fear I was having for alot of the new OLED monitors since I do a good amount of office work/internet browsing in addition to some gaming. Thats why when I saw this monitor go on sale I jumped onboard. I have been nothing but happy with this purchase as I get the wide screen experience, but still get the height I need for my office work. Much cheaper than the LG and Dell options, yes I know it is a VA panel, but as the monitor sits directly in front of me at my desk I have NO issues with viewing angles or anything like that. A great monitor overall and if you can get it on sale it is a NO BRAINER to purchase. Picture quality is great, screen is bright enough for my office and everything is functioning as I would expect. My 4080 video card truely allows this monitor to shine. Highly recommend for those of you who dont want to risk the burn in of OLED or avoid the high prices of the OLED screens. Obviously those other monitors may have better blacks and brightness, but for the price you won’t be disappointed. I will admit, that like most Samsung monitors/TVs, you do need to do some adjustments to get a more accurate color, but that little bit of work is well worth it.”
Customer Review: “I am very happy with the purchase and it’s worth the money when it’s well under a thousand. I wanted something bigger and higher res for playing games on plus general internet and streaming. This does that great. The color isn’t as accurate as on my previous LG IPS monitor, but sitting side by side I can get it fairly close. Plenty good for gaming and movies. I use the included display port cable and have not seen any flickering on an AMD gpu and Linux. You will need a beefy video card to push this many pixels in games.Picture is not great out of the box. I use Custom: Brightness 40, Contrast 32, Sharpness 15, Color 30, Tint R2, Local Dim high, Contrast Enhance off, Color Tone warm 1, White Balance (-1 r, -2 b), Gamma 2, Shadow Detail 0, Color Space native for Picture looks great. FreeSync on, Black Equalizer 0 on the Game tab. I could maybe get it slightly closer by further tweaking the white balance, but it is close enough to the accurate 34UC88 beside it for me to not bother. I’m happy with it.The cons: I do think the 1000r curvature radius is too steep. I would much rather see it with the 1900r radius of the LG beside it, but that’s not how they made it. The viewing angle could also be better, but I think that is partly a result of the curve as well. There is some noticeable backlight bleed on a completely black screen when you look for it, but I can’t say I even notice it in a dark game like BG3.Considering it can usually be found under 1000, I think it’s worth it. The further under the better. For over it, I think I would try to find something with oled or a flatter curve.”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “Really like this monitor that I got for my kid. I originally thought the curve was going to be a problem but that definitely proved to not be. It’s very responsive and easy to setup. The colors needed a bit of calibration that I got from a review site but after that it looked good. The quality seems really good for the price. Refresh rate is pretty high but my kid doesn’t have an ultra high end machine so it can’t drive it very often to be honest. Over all though it’s a great monitor that is cheap and gets the job done.”
Customer Review: “This is a great monitor for the price! Nice and big with plenty of screen real estate. Crisp and bright video. I haven’t had any reason to complain. I treated it gently until I got it mounted due to some of the other reviews, but once I got it secured on the arm, I have no worries. Treat her gently and she’s just fine. The only caveat I have for anyone is to be aware, there are no speakers, so an external is necessary.”

Complete Buying Guide for Samsung Curved Monitor Settings
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing the best settings for your Samsung curved monitor, we look at a few key areas. Picture quality is paramount, so we examine brightness, contrast, color accuracy, and sharpness. For gamers, refresh rate and response time are crucial for smooth, lag-free action, while for professionals, color gamut coverage and calibration options are important. We also consider user comfort, looking at features like Eye Saver Mode and flicker-free technology, especially for those who spend long hours at their desk. The immersive nature of a curved monitor is also a big plus, so we evaluate how well the curve enhances the viewing experience for different tasks.
Budget Planning
Samsung offers curved monitors across a wide range of price points. Entry-level models are great for general use and offer a comfortable viewing experience at an affordable price. Mid-range options often include higher refresh rates and better color reproduction, making them suitable for casual gaming and creative work. High-end models, like the Odyssey series, come with top-tier specs such as extremely high refresh rates, advanced HDR support, and premium panel technology, catering to serious gamers and professionals who need the absolute best performance. Consider your primary use case to determine the optimal balance between features and cost.
Final Thoughts
Optimizing your Samsung curved monitor settings can significantly enhance your daily computing experience. Whether you’re aiming for peak gaming performance, precise color accuracy for design work, or simply a more comfortable viewing environment, there’s a setting or a monitor that fits your needs. Don’t be afraid to experiment with the on-screen display (OSD) menu and use the preset modes as a starting point. For enhanced ergonomics, consider accessories like a monitor stand for curved display or a monitor shelf for curved ultrawide monitor to further improve your setup.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I adjust the brightness and contrast on my Samsung curved monitor?
A: You can usually adjust brightness and contrast through the monitor’s On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. Navigate to the Picture or Display settings using the physical buttons on the monitor. Look for “Brightness” and “Contrast” sliders and adjust them to your preference. For gaming, you might want higher brightness and contrast, while for office work, a slightly lower setting can reduce eye strain.
Q: What are the best settings for gaming on a Samsung curved monitor?
A: For gaming, prioritize a fast refresh rate and low response time. Enable Game Mode if available, which often optimizes settings for gaming. You may also want to adjust color saturation and sharpness to make details pop. Ensure FreeSync or G-Sync is enabled if your monitor and graphics card support it to prevent screen tearing. For more in-depth gaming settings, check out our guide on what monitor settings are best for gaming.
Q: How can I improve color accuracy on my Samsung curved monitor?
A: Most monitors come with preset picture modes like “Standard,” “Movie,” or “Gaming.” For better color accuracy, look for a “Custom” or “User” mode where you can manually adjust RGB values. You can also use color calibration tools or look up recommended calibration settings for your specific monitor model online. For professional work, consider a hardware colorimeter for precise calibration.
Q: Is the 1000R curve better than a 1800R curve?
A: The 1000R curve is tighter and more aggressive than the 1800R curve, meaning it wraps around your field of vision more closely. For some users, especially those sitting very close to the screen, the 1000R offers a more immersive experience. The 1800R is a bit more subtle and may be preferred by users who find the 1000R too intense or have a wider desk setup. It’s largely a matter of personal preference and viewing distance.
Q: Should I use the “Eye Saver Mode” or “Flicker-Free” feature?
A: Yes, if you spend long hours in front of your monitor, these features are highly recommended. Eye Saver Mode reduces blue light emission, which can help reduce eye strain and improve sleep quality. Flicker-Free technology eliminates screen flickering that can be imperceptible but still contributes to eye fatigue. Enabling both can make your viewing experience much more comfortable.
Finding the perfect settings for your Samsung curved monitor is key to unlocking its full potential. Whether you’re chasing victory in your favorite game, perfecting a design, or just enjoying your daily digital life, the right adjustments can make all the difference. Remember that personal preference plays a big role, so use these recommendations as a starting point and fine-tune them to your liking. If you’re looking to further optimize your setup, consider adding accessories like a monitor arm for curved monitors or a monitor light bar for curved monitors to enhance both ergonomics and viewing comfort. Happy monitoring!
