Customer Review: “Been using this for two days now and everything is great. I have a dual Xeon workstation and gaming PC connected via KVM. After I got everything hooked up I maxed out the refresh rate at 240 Hz. Right off the bat I got really bad flickering, like multiple flickers per second and only happened at 240Hz. Fortunately, the problem was with my DP cable. Even though it was a Dp 1.4 it just couldn’t support that high of a signal. Bought a new one. switched it out, and everything is great.Now, if you were like me I hesitated because my monitor is shared for work and play. I didn’t know how bad the text would be considering how that is not a strong suit. The text isn’t as sharp as my previous monitor but not a big deal at all. As a matter of fact, I am already used to it and don’t think about it anymore.The blacks on this thing is absolutely amazing. The colors are so vibrant and rich and gaming looks so much better, even compared to a non OLED 4k monitor.The one thing that I was not too thrilled about is the auto dimming feature. If I switched from my desktop to MS word, you would see some minor dimming. I found out this is part of the built-in screen saving options. Not sure which ones so I turned them all off. I am not overly worried about burn-in. If it happens then I will use my 3-year warranty. By the way, make sure you register the monitor on Asus’s site.Now, add this to your cart and check out.UPDATE: I just upgraded to the PG27UCDM (review above was for the XG27AQDMG). For some reason Amazon won’t let me write an independent review, even though it is a different model so I am including it in this review. Without exaggeration, this may be the best monitor ever. It just took a few minutes to change the settings based on what I like. The colors are so vibrant and blacks are so deep. I seriously cannot think of anything on which to improve the quality on this monitor, except for one. There is noticeable flicking if I have VRR enabled. Certainly not a deal breaker but you can see it flicker if you pay close enough attention. Other than that, it’s perfect and worth the $$$$.”

Customer Review: “Love it! Have had it for maybe 3 weeks now no issues. Picture quality is great u definitely need the right HDMI cord that can support the type of quality u are trying to stream. Xbox supports 4K and comes with 2.1HDMI so I am able to use 4k at 60hz for watching things on this monitor and it will activate the HDR settings at that point.The only “con” I would say which isn’t really a con just an annoying thing is the pixel cleaning. I make sure to do it whenever I have the pop up bc I don’t want burn it but it takes like 6 minutes and sometimes I just wanna get right on and play but I have to wait. But it’s worth it for the longevity of the monitor. U do need speakers it has no speakers. I did see some flickering at one point I never knew what that was before but I only saw it the one time and after fixing my settings to turnoff VRR it stopped so that’s good. Picture quality u will have to mess with the setting a lot to see what u like best but there are 2 settings save slots so u can save ur settings and load them.I have1 setting for when im gaming i jus hit to load that pre saved setup and the when I watching something i switch to my other saved settings so i dont have to go through and change everything all the time.Also for playing games, I play rivals mostly, that cross hair feature is lowkey a cheat bc I can better see my cross hair than the actual game crosshair and it has a dynamic function so it changes colors depending on the colors on the screen so it’s never hard to see it always does a contrasting color to make it easier to see. It has come in handy a lot. In the photo that Red Crosshair on the screen that’s the one I’m talking about that it a feature of the monitor that’s not from the game.Definitely is worth the money. I used amazons payment plan bc it is kinda expensive but I think it’s worth it and I like the rainbow color lighting effects the symbol does on the back it’s cuteeee.”

Customer Review: “The media could not be loaded. It’s an OLED so its gonna be good. I didn’t have any text fringing or eye strain even after 4 hours straight use. Picture quality is great. Brightness is good enough for me.Im impressed by the colors on it. It doesn’t get any better in this price.Now the cons are that the upper side of the panel is very thin so if I want to tilt it up or down with my monitor arm I’d feel more confident doing it holding the bottom part.The HDMI doesn’t support more than 165hz on this monitor so I had to use display port for that sweet 240hz refresh rate. You could use an HDMI to DP cable if you don’t have any display port option in your pc or laptop.The bezels are a bit thicker than I expected, You’ll notice it if you work or play in bright room. For me it’s no problem. My roommate has an Samsung g5 OLED and it feels smaller than that for some reason even though it’s same size. (Image quality is better than Samsung in this).It’s a glossy display, part of the reason why content looks better than Samsung g5. But in a bright room or average light room if you are watching something dark-ish you will see all the reflection on it. While gaming it’s not noticeable.Overall a little bit adjustment but very good for the price.”

At first glance the monitor may look a little dim, but if you mess around with the settings you’ll see the burn in protection settings are turned on by default. Specifically “Uniform Brightness” which dims the entire monitor. Pretty sweet for web browsing and coding and stuff, where some elements might be in the same spot for a while. Turning it off however, makes the screen look fantastic. Super deep darkness with vibrant colors, especially if you take the time to find the right hdr settings. All in all for 360 dollars this is a stellar buy.”

Customer Review: “Every now and then I like to treat myself. I’m not a big spender but I do know what I like. I’ve been an OLED display fan for as long as I remember and my first OLED was a tablet, another Samsung product. To my eye, I’ve yet to see another display type that offers the same levels of color fidelity, black levels and sharpness.I’m not a gamer so things like super-fast refresh rates are somewhat moot to me but I do work on a computer a lot and consume a lot of media in the form of movies and TV. My main display is an LG OLED but in my bedroom system (which also includes 5.1 audio) I was suffering with a 27” LCD TV doubling as a monitor. That was OK for office work and browsing but its gray like black levels were a distraction when watching content with the lights off.The prices of OLED monitors were putting me off but when this model dropped under four hundred bucks I decided to go for it. I’m glad I did. I’m unfortunately not able to go with a larger size in the space I have available, otherwise I would probably have gone for a dual purpose 42″ or 48″ TV/OLED monitor a while back. This 27′ size is, however perfect for my current needs.It is an entry level model. The body is plastic, it has limited inputs: one HDMI and one Display Port. It does have a USB-A socket but that’s for service only; it won’t accept media files for display. The resolution is 1440p. I was a bit concerned at the lack of 4K but that proved not to be a problem. There are no speakers but you can pass-through audio via a 3.5 mm socket for headphones or computer speaker hookup.I didn’t use the included stand, instead choosing to mount the screen on a cantilever arm for ease and flexibility.When I first turned on the TV, connected to my computer over Display Port, the colors seemed overbright (this is common) and the color balance was way off. This was quickly cured by entering the “original” mode and matching the visuals with my LG laptop which this works in tandem with when I’m computing.For AV consumption, I’m feeding the HDMI input with sources from a Roku Express 4K streamer and an Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player. At first I thought the visuals were a bit “meh!” but then I realized that my surround receiver, which these devices were routed via, topped out at 1080p resolution. When I connected the monitor directly to the Roku via HDMI, the Roku was fooled into thinking the Samsung was a 4K device and the monitor down-rezzed the signal to 1440p without issue. I have to say, the difference between 1080p upscaled and 4K downscaled was like night and day. Fed with a decent 4K HDR signal, I was hard pressed to tell any difference in quality between what I was seeing on this monitor and the picture on my much larger 4K LG OLED TV in the living room. The picture was superb. Of course that meant I had to ditch my older Marantz receiver and replace it with a more recent version with 4K capability in order to get the best out of the screen. The newer Marantz is also able to upscale my Blu-Ray discs from the OPPO and they look great on this device.Now I couldn’t be happier. I can watch movies and TV in bed in the highest quality imaginable. Everything is super-sharp. Colors are still maybe a little overblown (especially in the blue thru’ teal area) but it’s not a dealbreaker. Skin tones, light reflection, space scenes; everything looks mind blowing.The menu system is quite intuitive once you get used to it and I’m now capable of navigating around quite freely. That said, I have downloaded Samsung Display Manager to my computer to perform the most common tasks like input switching without using the main power/menu input button. I’ve heard this can be quite fragile and break easily and is often refused warranty coverage. Frankly, I’ll do anything to keep this going as long as possible. It’s perfect for my needs. Whether browsing web pages, typing documents, watching YouTube videos or consuming content from other devices, everything looks stunning on this. HDR works great despite a relatively low 200 nits average peak brightness level and black levels and shadow detail in the darkest areas are sublime.This might not be the absolute best choice in OLED monitors (especially for avid gamers) but for most people, I don’t think they’d be missing the kind of specs that can cost hundreds of dollars more. This is a fine product at a very tempting price.”

This monitor (pictured on the left), and Samsung SAMSUNG 27” Odyssey G65B QHD 240Hz 1ms (GTG) HDR 600 Gaming Hub 1000R Curved Gaming Monitor (pictured on the right), which is an LED monitor.Pros:-Steaming movies on 4k and PC games look amazing compared to my Samsung LED monitor-True blacks make the color pop-Great prices without sacrificing display quality. However, this is strictly a monitor and does not include Samsung Hub, which has live TV and movie streaming apps. This is still a plus for me since I don’t use Samsung Hub on my monitors.-High refresh rate makes gameplay smooth-AMD FreeSync works flawlessly using an AMD Radeon 9700XTCons:-The included base isn’t height-adjustable or tilt-adjustable-Not great for online FPS games such as Battlefield 6. OLED gets too dark, making it difficult to spot enemies hiding in dark spots. My Samsung LED monitor makes it easy to spot enemies in the Dark because LED monitors have “Bloom,” which does not make dark areas darker, unlike this monitor.Overall, a great monitor with excellent picture quality for watching movies and playing games. However, it might put you at an disdvantage if you are playing online FPS games where every second counts.”
