Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I’ve been using this 34-inch curved ultrawide monitor for nearly two years for work. For the price, it offers solid value and is easy to recommend. Setup is straightforward, and the instructions are clear. The ultrawide curved display is great for productivity and multitasking, and the monitor feels solid, though it is a bit heavy. However, in terms of sharpness, I didn’t find it on par with some other monitors I’ve used in the past or even my laptop display. Additionally, the stand is not height-adjustable, which would have been a nice improvement. Despite these limitations, it’s still a good ultrawide monitor for the price and works well for everyday work use.

– A Satisfied User

Customer Review: What an amazing monitor for the price… I bought the monitor for about 200$. For the price, it’s amazing. The screen quality is absolutely stunning. I purchased this in advance to pair with a steam machine, but have it hooked up to my Xbox series X in the meantime. The colors are extremely vivid, poppin!! Amazing contrast, sharpness, it’s all there. NO screen tears, no stutters. The image this monitor produces is absolutely gorgeous. NO dead pixels too!!! In my opinion this is an amazing monitor. If you are a gamer, this is for you. Be mindful the screen is VERY wide. I have been faithful to Sceptre for about 10 years now, and will continue to purchase Sceptre after this. Amazing buy. I love it. 10/10 NOTE: if anything bad happens, I will update below 👇🏻

Customer Review: Viewsonic has been my go-to brand of monitor for close 3 decades now and they have never let me down, this monitor is no different. This product is responsive for gaming with fantastic color representation and ease of adjustability. The price to value of this monitor is unbeatable. Fantastic functionality and unbeatable quality.

– TechEnthusiast_99

Customer Review: I needed a monitor that was viewable from a few feet away. It’s got a great picture and the curved screen is a nice touch. It’s got slots for 3 monitors – 2 HDMI and 1 display port. No HDMI cables but it comes with a DP cable. I have another computer hooked to this monitor so I can switch between them. No instruction manual included and the setup instructions are terrible. I had to download the user manual to figure out how to power it up and use the control panel. My only complaint is with the stand: 1) It slides into a slot on the back and you have to force it to snap into place. Otherwise it’s very wobbly 2) the stand tilts vertically which is nice but it cannot be adjusted up or down. It sits too high for my needs so I’ll need to install a wall mount at the right height. Another minor complaint is that the input slots are mounted vertically which helps to save space behind the monitor but makes it more difficult to plug in the cables.

Customer Review: What’s not to love about a Samsung curved monitor? This is my first curved monitor and I was a little worried that it might be strange to work with. I use it in my home office and I have honestly loved it from day 1. The picture quality is lovely, it is easy on my eyes, and I get a lot less eye strain since getting this. My son has one that he uses for gaming (I know traditionally these curved monitors were made for gaming) so I can imagine it provides quite an immersive experience. The stand is the perfect height and the set up was easy.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: This monitor is a great value for the price. I mainly use it for work (SAP-heavy tasks) and general web browsing with my Mac mini, and it performs well. It comes with both a USB-C and HDMI cable, which is super convenient for switching between my Mac and ThinkPad. The remote aids in the switching between PC and smart monitor use (picture quality is ok but I didn’t expect a lot from a monitor since it isn’t a tv). Assembly was easy, and the display quality is nice—though I did tweak the contrast and color settings to my liking. The built-in sound is decent, and while I’m not picky about audio, it’s more than fine for everyday use. My only gripe is with the smart TV feature—when using apps like Peacock, the resolution doesn’t fill the screen, leaving black bars on the sides (included a photo). Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. Overall, I’m glad I kept it. It’s proven that you don’t have to drop $1,300 on an iMac—pairing a Mac Mini with this monitor cost me under $1,000 and works just as well. If LG tossed in a second USB-C cable and fixed the resolution issue, they’d have a customer for life.

– MacUser_WFH

Customer Review: I bought this monitor to get more viewing space and the curved screen. But, it took me sometime to figure out how to get it to work properly because I am using a docking station that only supports USB-C upstream at 5Gbps/100W and 2K HDMI, 4K HDMI. This monitor has 5M pixel (3440×1440) that is equivalent to 2.5K. If your docking station only supports 2K HDMI, the image will be blurry. Once, I switch to 4K HDMI port on the docking station, the blurry image is gone. Please make sure the HDMI cable is also 4K, too. The one come with the monitor is good. After that, the image is perfect but it flicks (screen black out 2s, come back, and disappear again) every few seconds, especially when I use Web browser. This basically makes it useless. I googled the problem, updated my graphic card driver, and it is still the same. I suspected upstream speed of my docking station is too slow. I searched internet and it shows 5Gbps is enough for 2.5K. When I connect with my laptop Thunderbolt 4 port (40 Gbps), the flicking is gone. It only happens when I connect with my laptop’s USB-C 3.2/DisplayPort/PD (10 Gbps/100W) combo port. At this point, I am pretty sure it is caused by the docking station 5Gbps upstream speed. Therefore, I bought another docking station that supports USB-C upstream 10Gbps/100W with 2x HDMI 4K. All problems are gone when it connects with the new docking station. By the way, the USB-C cable come with the monitor only support 5Gbps/100W so that I have to use my own USB-C cable. To sum up, it needs USB-C 3.2 DisplayPort/PD combo port (10 Gbps/100W) connection including the USB-C cable and a 4K HDMI port and cable. Overall, this is a good monitor.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Very happy with the color and text display quality of this VA panel and no fear of burn-in as this is not an OLED. But still deeper blacks than IPS Black Panels. Was worried about excessive heat generation like in my old plasma TV, but it’s minimal. Much better power/heat efficiency than Mini LED and OLED panels. Have not tested it for gaming but from what I’ve read, it’s great for casual gaming. Excellent value for $ with the USB-C connection to laptop for a clutter-free desktop. Very happy with this purchase!

Complete Buying Guide for Best Curved Monitor Size For Work

Essential Factors We Consider

When selecting the best curved monitor size for work, we look at several key factors. Firstly, the screen size and aspect ratio are crucial. Ultrawide monitors (21:9 or 32:9) offer superior multitasking capabilities, allowing you to have multiple windows open side-by-side without feeling cramped. For those with less desk space or who prefer a more focused view, a standard 16:9 aspect ratio in sizes like 27 or 32 inches can still be very effective, especially with a good curve. Resolution is another vital consideration; QHD (1440p) or 4K (2160p) resolutions on larger screens provide sharper text and more detailed images, which is beneficial for productivity. We also prioritize refresh rates above 60Hz, as higher refresh rates (like 100Hz, 120Hz, or 144Hz) lead to smoother scrolling and a more pleasant visual experience overall. Connectivity options, such as USB-C for single-cable solutions, are also important for modern workstations. Finally, ergonomics like adjustable stands and eye-care technologies are essential for comfort during long work hours.

Budget Planning

Curved monitors can range significantly in price, from budget-friendly options to high-end professional displays. Generally, larger screen sizes, higher resolutions (QHD and 4K), and faster refresh rates will command higher prices. Ultrawide monitors, especially those with premium features like USB-C docking capabilities, tend to be more expensive than standard 16:9 displays. When planning your budget, consider the trade-offs. A 34-inch QHD ultrawide often hits a sweet spot for productivity and price, offering a substantial upgrade over smaller monitors. If your budget is tighter, a 27-inch or 32-inch 1080p or 1440p curved monitor can still provide a significant improvement in comfort and multitasking compared to a flat, standard-sized display. Remember to factor in potential accessories like monitor arms or stands if the included stands are not ergonomic enough for your needs. For more insights on monitor size and budget, check out our guide on what monitor size is best for office work.

Final Thoughts

Choosing the best curved monitor size for your work ultimately depends on your specific needs, desk space, and budget. Ultrawide monitors excel at multitasking and immersion, making them ideal for complex workflows and creative tasks. However, even a well-chosen 27-inch or 32-inch curved monitor can offer a more comfortable and productive experience than a traditional flat panel. Prioritize features like resolution, refresh rate, and connectivity that align with your daily tasks. By considering these factors and the models we’ve reviewed, you can find a monitor that enhances your productivity and overall work experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the best curved monitor size for general office work?

A: For general office work, a 27-inch or 32-inch curved monitor is often ideal, offering a good balance of screen real estate and desk space. Ultrawide monitors (around 34 inches) are excellent for heavy multitasking, allowing you to view multiple documents or applications side-by-side comfortably.

Q: Are curved monitors good for programming?

A: Yes, curved monitors, especially ultrawide ones, are excellent for programming. The wider field of view allows developers to see more code at once, reducing the need to scroll and improving efficiency. The curve also helps keep the edges of the expansive screen within your peripheral vision, reducing eye strain.

Q: What resolution should I look for in a work monitor?

A: For a 27-inch monitor, 1440p (QHD) is a great choice for sharp text and detail. For larger monitors (32 inches and above), 1440p is still good, but 4K (2160p) offers the best clarity for detailed work, though it may come at a higher cost and require a more powerful graphics card. Ultrawide monitors often come in a 1440p equivalent resolution (e.g., 3440×1440), which provides excellent sharpness across the wider screen.

Q: Is a 100Hz or 120Hz refresh rate necessary for work?

A: While 60Hz is standard, a higher refresh rate like 100Hz or 120Hz makes a noticeable difference in smoothness for everyday tasks like scrolling through web pages, documents, or timelines. It reduces motion blur and can make the overall experience feel more fluid and less fatiguing. For most office work, it’s a beneficial upgrade rather than a strict necessity.

Q: Should I choose a 1500R or 1800R curve?

A: The ‘R’ number indicates the radius of the curve, with a smaller number meaning a more aggressive curve. An 1800R curve is gentler, while a 1500R curve is more pronounced. For most users, both offer an immersive experience and reduced eye strain compared to flat monitors. The choice often comes down to personal preference and desk setup. A more aggressive curve can feel more immersive at closer distances.

In conclusion, selecting the best curved monitor size for your work setup is a decision that hinges on your specific needs and preferences.
