Customer Reviews
“Today I set up my dual KOORUI 27″ model N07 monitors. I was somewhat worried by multiple reviewers reporting that this model isn’t really a 4K screen. So while I don’t usually write reviews, I’m here to assure you the N07 is in fact a 4K screen with resolution of 3840×2160 and refresh rate of 60hz. And I know why some people got this wrong. When I unplugged my old 1920×1080 monitors and tried to use the same HDMI cables, Windows identified the monitor as having a 1920×1080 native resolution. But my cables were very old. I plugged both my new monitors in using DisplayPort cables and they were instantly reporting 3840×2160. My monitors did not come with DP cables, just new HDMI cables. But my office had extra DP cables laying around. If you’re still having trouble getting 4K on one of these, be wary of adapters, such as DP-to-HDMI, DVI-to-HDMI, etc. Also try shorter or newer cables. You CAN get 4K out of HDMI cables, but remember that HDMI has been around since 2002 and that standard has gone through many versions with new capabilities over the years. As for reviewing the other aspect of these monitors… they look great to me! Neither of mine had dead or stuck pixels. the colors look good and image is sharp. I’m not a professional monitor reviewer, but these seem like perfectly good office monitors for a fantastic price compared to big brand names. I took a chance on some of their smaller screens several months back and was blown away at the quality and low price. I’m glad this higher end model hasn’t let me down! UPDATE: My original review was written 10/13/2023 and now it’s 5/16/2025. I have never had a single issue with these monitors in the 1 year 7 months I’ve been using them. In fact I stumbled across my own review after looking to purchase a 3rd matching one… because a triple-monitor setup with these bad boys would be awesome! By the way, I use them on a dual-monitor desk mount. I love that they have VESA mounting holes so they can be used on wall or desk arms/mounts.”

“I ordered a monitor from Sceptre and received the wrong model. This led me to make a somewhat angry purchase but man did it pay off. Jumping the gun on a 1440p IPS display was so worth it. I am pleased, satisfied, and left wanting nothing more. Pros and cons below. PROS: – Really bright display. This is such a game changer when you constantly deal with dim gaming displays. Typically on a budget monitor you get 250cd/m2 but here you get 400cd/m2!!! The brightness is perfect for gaming, day to day use, brightly lit rooms, etc. – Super Colorful Display: The colors on this screen pop like I’ve never seen. Everything is perfectly saturated. Nothing seems out of the ordinary. Everything you watch, read, play, will be enjoyed thoroughly guaranteed. – Whites are actually WHITE: As you can see in one of the images I attached, My other monitor (HP 25x) provides yellowish whites while the 27E3Q provides a very natural and expected white. – Not a single dead pixel on my unit! – No annoying branding. One simple and almost invisible “KOORUI” in the center of the frame on the bottom. No extended pieces of plastic either. Just a rectangular unit as you would expect. Unlike the HP 25x which has an annoying chunk of plastic that extends out. This is more nitpicky obviously but it still counts! – OSD (On Screen Display) is very easy to use. Its quick, to the point, no frills or gimmicks, and easy to read. – Really nice stand! Although I used my own dual monitor mount, the stand is high quality, heavy duty, with tons of adjustability. (Rotate, side to side, height) CONS: – From the research I’ve done, if you leave the overdrive off you won’t have a problem but, with it turned on you do experience some ghosting I believe. Haven’t tested it myself but this is what I’ve heard. Not worried about it, I leave it off and thoroughly enjoy gaming. – In all honesty, the only possible thing I can think of (and this is a real nitpick imo) is the edges of the display border. They could be a HAIR thinner. My HP 25x has a slightly thinner border (not the bezel/plastic frame). This monitor would have benefited greatly from a thinner border but I wouldn’t worry about it. With all of the benefits (AFFORDABILITY) a border shouldn’t even be close to a deal breaker. Overall, amazing monitor. I will be purchasing another one soon!”

“Good value, overall pretty good monitor. Only complaint is that it doesn’t have a sleep mode. There is sleep mode in the menu, but it turns off the monitor completely when Windows screensaver comes on. Every other monitor I’ve used will wake up automatically, this one you have to press the power button every time. Other than that annoyance, I am happy with the monitor.”

“The monitor came earlier than the arrival date and came very clean and protected in its box. I would 100% recommend this to anyone.”

“This is a great monitor. I bought two of these for my son set up in his bedroom for his gaming computer. The quality is amazing, the refresh rate is so fast, and it is such an attractive set of monitors. His grandmother is actually gonna get him one more so that he can have a spaceship kind of experience when playing games. Highly recommend! And the price is awesome. Especially with a 280 Hz refresh rate. It is compatible with his IBM computer, no problem hooking them up. Super easy to set up, and I like that they are high adjustable. Complete Buying Guide for Best Curved Monitor For Music Production
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing a curved monitor for music production, several key features come into play. We prioritize screen size and resolution, as more real estate allows for a less cluttered DAW and easier access to your tools. The curvature, typically rated as 1500R or 1800R, is crucial for comfort and immersion, reducing eye strain during long sessions. Color accuracy (measured in sRGB coverage) is also important for visualizing audio frequencies and waveform integrity, ensuring what you see is a true representation. Finally, connectivity options like HDMI and DisplayPort are essential for seamless integration with your audio interface and computer.
Budget Planning
Curved monitors for music production can range from budget-friendly options to high-end professional displays. For those just starting out or on a tighter budget, monitors in the $150-$300 range, like some of the Sceptre and KOORUI models, offer great value. Mid-range options, typically between $300-$500, often provide larger sizes, higher resolutions (like QHD), and better color accuracy. Professional-grade monitors can go upwards of $600, offering superior color calibration, wider gamut coverage, and advanced features. Consider your current financial situation and how critical these advanced features are for your specific workflow.
Final Thoughts
Selecting the right curved monitor can significantly impact your music production experience. Whether you’re looking for an expansive canvas to manage complex projects or a comfortable, immersive view to get lost in your creative process, there’s a curved monitor out there for you. We’ve highlighted some of the best options, balancing price, performance, and key features essential for music creators. Remember to consider your desk space, primary use case (mixing, mastering, composing), and budget when making your final decision. A good monitor is an investment in your creativity and productivity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does a curved monitor help with music production?
A: A curved monitor can help by reducing eye strain and fatigue during long sessions, as the curve brings the edges of the screen closer to your peripheral vision. This can also lead to a more immersive experience, allowing you to focus better on your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW).
Q: What screen size is best for a music production monitor?
A: For music production, larger screens are generally better. 27-inch or 32-inch monitors offer more screen real estate, which is invaluable for displaying complex DAWs with multiple tracks and plugins without feeling cramped.
Q: Is resolution important for music production monitors?
A: Yes, resolution is important. While Full HD (1080p) is usable, QHD (1440p) or even 4K (2160p) offers significantly more detail, allowing you to see more of your project timeline, plugin interfaces, and waveforms clearly. This can lead to a more efficient workflow.
Q: Do I need high refresh rates and fast response times for music production?
A: High refresh rates (like 180Hz or 240Hz) and fast response times (1ms or less) are primarily beneficial for gaming and fast-paced video content. While they won’t hurt music production and can contribute to a smoother experience when navigating your DAW, they are not as critical as screen size, resolution, and color accuracy for most audio tasks.
Q: What is sRGB coverage, and why is it important for music producers?
A: sRGB is a standard color space. High sRGB coverage (e.g., 98% or 99%) on a monitor means it can accurately display a wider range of colors. This is important for music producers who want to ensure that visual representations of their audio, such as EQ curves or spectrum analyzers, are accurate and true to life.
When it comes to creating music, every detail matters, and your monitor is no exception. A well-chosen curved monitor can transform your production space, offering both comfort and a clearer view of your sonic landscape. We’ve explored some of the top contenders that balance immersive design with the practical needs of music creation. Ready to upgrade your studio setup?
