Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I’ve been using this 34-inch curved ultrawide monitor for nearly two years for work. For the price, it offers solid value and is easy to recommend. Setup is straightforward, and the instructions are clear. The ultrawide curved display is great for productivity and multitasking, and the monitor feels solid, though it is a bit heavy. However, in terms of sharpness, I didn’t find it on par with some other monitors I’ve used in the past or even my laptop display. Additionally, the stand is not height-adjustable, which would have been a nice improvement. Despite these limitations, it’s still a good ultrawide monitor for the price and works well for everyday work use.”

Customer Review: “What an amazing monitor for the price… I bought the monitor for about 200$. For the price, it’s amazing. The screen quality is absolutely stunning. I purchased this in advance to pair with a steam machine, but have it hooked up to my Xbox series X in the meantime. The colors are extremely vivid, poppin!! Amazing contrast, sharpness, it’s all there. NO screen tears, no stutters. The image this monitor produces is absolutely gorgeous. NO dead pixels too!!! In my opinion this is an amazing monitor. If you are a gamer, this is for you. Be mindful the screen is VERY wide. I have been faithful to sceptre for about 10 years now, and will continue to purchase sceptre after this. Amazing buy. I love it. 10/10 NOTE: if anything bad happens, I will update below.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I had been looking for a new monitor for awhile and had been researching for a new one. I decided I wanted a high quality display, but burn in was a fear I was having for alot of the new OLED monitors since I do a good amount of office work/internet browsing in addition to some gaming. Thats why when I saw this monitor go on sale I jumped onboard. I have been nothing but happy with this purchase as I get the wide screen experience, but still get the height I need for my office work. Much cheaper than the LG and Dell options, yes I know it is a VA panel, but as the monitor sits directly in front of me at my desk I have NO issues with viewing angles or anything like that. A great monitor overall and if you can get it on sale it is a NO BRAINER to purchase. Picture quality is great, screen is bright enough for my office and everything is functioning as I would expect. My 4080 video card truely allows this monitor to shine. Highly recommend for those of you who dont want to risk the burn in of OLED or avoid the high prices of the OLED screens. Obviously those other monitors may have better blacks and brightness, but for the price you won’t be disappointed. I will admit, that like most Samsung monitors/TVs, you do need to do some adjustments to get a more accurate color, but that little bit of work is well worth it.”

Customer Review: “I am very happy with the purchase and it’s worth the money when it’s well under a thousand. I wanted something bigger and higher res for playing games on plus general internet and streaming. This does that great. The color isn’t as accurate as on my previous LG IPS monitor, but sitting side by side I can get it fairly close. Plenty good for gaming and movies. I use the included display port cable and have not seen any flickering on an AMD gpu and Linux. You will need a beefy video card to push this many pixels in games. Picture is not great out of the box. I use Custom: Brightness 40, Contrast 32, Sharpness 15, Color 30, Tint R2, Local Dim high, Contrast Enhance off, Color Tone warm 1, White Balance (-1 r, -2 b), Gamma 2, Shadow Detail 0, Color Space native for Picture looks great. FreeSync on, Black Equalizer 0 on the Game tab. I could maybe get it slightly closer by further tweaking the white balance, but it is close enough to the accurate 34UC88 beside it for me to not bother. I’m happy with it. The cons: I do think the 1000r curvature radius is too steep. I would much rather see it with the 1900r radius of the LG beside it, but that’s not how they made it. The viewing angle could also be better, but I think that is partly a result of the curve as well. There is some noticeable backlight bleed on a completely black screen when you look for it, but I can’t say I even notice it in a dark game like BG3. Considering it can usually be found under 1000, I think it’s worth it. The further under the better. For over it, I think I would try to find something with oled or a flatter curve.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I’ve had this monitor for about 15 months now. It doesn’t get daily use, probably about 10 hours a week on average. The friend who recommended it to me used it much more per week, at least 40 hours. It has been utterly solid in that time. I notice that the stand and trim is slightly different from the one I received, but that’s just a cosmetic issue. It’s desk mounted and the mounting stand and bracket are sturdy metal and easy to set up. It seems that more than usual care has been taken in the packaging, design, and features. I paid about $50 more on Amazon back in Dec 2024. Just using it as a HDMI computer monitor to view audio production software. For my budget, eyesight, and usage, I’m 100% satisfied so far.”

Customer Review: “Very good picture and the delivery was perfect. I am going to buy another one.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Viewsonic has been my goto brand of monitor for close 3 decades now and they have never let me down, this monitor is no different. This product is responsive for gaming with fantastic color representation and ease of adjustability. The price to value of this monitor is unbeatable. Fantastic functionality and unbeatable quality.”

Customer Review: “I needed a monitor that was viewable from a few feet away. It’s got a great picture and the curved screen is a nice touch. It’s got slots for 3 monitors – 2 HDMI and 1 display port. No HDMI cables but it comes with a DP cable. I have another computer hooked to this monitor so I can switch between them. No instruction manual included and the setup instructions are terrible. I had to download the user manual to figure out how to power it up and use the control panel. My only complaint is with the stand: 1) It slides into a slot on the back and you have to force it to snap into place. Otherwise it’s very wobbly 2) the stand tilts vertically which is nice but it cannot be adjusted up or down. It sits too high for my needs so I’ll need to install a wall mount at the right height. Another minor complaint is that the input slots are mounted vertically which helps to save space behind the monitor but makes it more difficult to plug in the cables.”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Curved Monitor For Gaming And Work

Essential Factors We Consider

When selecting the best curved monitor for both gaming and work, we look at a few key aspects. First, the resolution and screen size are crucial; ultrawide monitors offer more real estate for productivity, while higher resolutions like WQHD or WUHD provide sharper images for both gaming and detailed work. Second, refresh rate and response time are paramount for gamers, ensuring smooth visuals and quick reactions. We prioritize monitors with at least 144Hz and 1ms response times. For work, color accuracy and good brightness are important. Finally, the curve radius (like 1500R or 1000R) significantly impacts immersion and comfort, with tighter curves generally feeling more enveloping.

Budget Planning

Curved monitors can range significantly in price. Entry-level options, like some of the budget-friendly ultrawides, might sacrifice peak performance or build quality but still offer a great curved experience for general use and casual gaming. Mid-range monitors usually strike a good balance between high refresh rates, resolutions, and build quality, making them ideal for most users. High-end monitors offer top-tier specs, premium features like advanced HDR, and superior build materials, but come with a premium price tag. Consider how you’ll primarily use the monitor to determine the best budget for your needs.

Final Thoughts

Choosing the right curved monitor involves balancing your gaming needs with your professional requirements. An ultrawide monitor, especially one with a curve, can dramatically improve both your gaming immersion and your work efficiency. Whether you’re aiming for competitive gaming performance or need extra screen space for complex spreadsheets and multiple applications, there’s a curved monitor out there that can meet your demands. We encourage you to consider your personal preferences for size, curve, and specific features when making your final decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the ideal curve radius for a curved monitor?

A: The most common curve radii are 1800R and 1500R, with tighter curves like 1000R offering more immersion. For general use and gaming, a 1500R curve is often considered a good balance between immersion and comfort. Extremely tight curves might take some getting used to but can be very engaging for gaming.

Q: Can curved monitors be good for productivity and work?

A: Absolutely! Curved ultrawide monitors provide a larger effective screen area, which is excellent for multitasking, coding, video editing, and any work that benefits from viewing multiple windows side-by-side. The curve can also reduce eye strain by keeping the edges of the screen closer to your peripheral vision.

Q: What is the difference between 144Hz and 180Hz refresh rates?

A: A 180Hz refresh rate means the monitor can display up to 180 frames per second, compared to 144 frames per second for a 144Hz monitor. While a 144Hz monitor offers a significant improvement over standard 60Hz displays, 180Hz provides even smoother motion, which is particularly noticeable in fast-paced gaming where every millisecond counts.

Q: Are curved monitors better for gaming than flat monitors?

A: For many gamers, curved monitors offer a more immersive experience by drawing you into the game world and reducing peripheral distractions. The curve can also make it easier to take in the entire screen at once, especially on larger ultrawide displays. However, flat monitors can still be excellent for gaming, especially if you prefer a more traditional viewing experience or are concerned about potential distortion in certain professional applications.

Q: What resolution should I look for in a curved monitor for gaming and work?

A: For ultrawide monitors, WQHD (3440×1440) is a popular and excellent choice, offering a great balance of sharpness and performance demands. For larger screens or those seeking maximum detail, WUHD (5120×2160) or even 4K resolutions are available, though they require more powerful hardware to drive effectively.

Choosing the best curved monitor for gaming and work involves finding that sweet spot where immersive visuals meet productive functionality. Whether you’re looking for the ultimate gaming setup or a more efficient workspace, the monitors we’ve highlighted offer compelling features and performance.
