“Viewsonic has been my goto brand of monitor for close 3 decades now and they have never let me down, this monitor is no different. This product is responsive for gaming with fantastic color representation and ease of adjustability. The price to value of this monitor is unbeatable. Fantastic functionality and unbeatable quality.”
– Customer Review
“I needed a monitor that was viewable from a few feet away. It’s got a great picture and the curved screen is a nice touch. It’s got slots for 3 monitors – 2 HDMI and 1 display port. No HDMI cables but it comes with a DP cable. I have another computer hooked to this monitor so I can switch between them. No instruction manual included and the setup instructions are terrible. I had to download the user manual to figure out how to power it up and use the control panel. My only complaint is with the stand: 1) It slides into a slot on the back and you have to force it to snap into place. Otherwise it’s very wobbly 2) the stand tilts vertically which is nice but it cannot be adjusted up or down. It sits too high for my needs so I’ll need to install a wall mount at the right height. Another minor complaint is that the input slots are mounted vertically which helps to save space behind the monitor but makes it more difficult to plug in the cables.”

Customer Reviews
“I had been looking for a new monitor for awhile and had been researching for a new one. I decided I wanted a high quality display, but burn in was a fear I was having for alot of the new OLED monitors since I do a good amount of office work/internet browsing in addition to some gaming. Thats why when I saw this monitor go on sale I jumped onboard. I have been nothing but happy with this purchase as I get the wide screen experience, but still get the height I need for my office work. Much cheaper than the LG and Dell options, yes I know it is a VA panel, but as the monitor sits directly in front of me at my desk I have NO issues with viewing angles or anything like that. A great monitor overall and if you can get it on sale it is a NO BRAINER to purchase. Picture quality is great, screen is bright enough for my office and everything is functioning as I would expect. My 4080 video card truely allows this monitor to shine. Highly recommend for those of you who dont want to risk the burn in of OLED or avoid the high prices of the OLED screens. Obviously those other monitors may have better blacks and brightness, but for the price you won’t be disappointed. I will admit, that like most Samsung monitors/TVs, you do need to do some adjustments to get a more accurate color, but that little bit of work is well worth it.”
– Customer Review
“I am very happy with the purchase and it’s worth the money when it’s well under a thousand. I wanted something bigger and higher res for playing games on plus general internet and streaming. This does that great. The color isn’t as accurate as on my previous LG IPS monitor, but sitting side by side I can get it fairly close. Plenty good for gaming and movies. I use the included display port cable and have not seen any flickering on an AMD gpu and Linux. You will need a beefy video card to push this many pixels in games. Picture is not great out of the box. I use Custom: Brightness 40, Contrast 32, Sharpness 15, Color 30, Tint R2, Local Dim high, Contrast Enhance off, Color Tone warm 1, White Balance (-1 r, -2 b), Gamma 2, Shadow Detail 0, Color Space native for Picture looks great. FreeSync on, Black Equalizer 0 on the Game tab. I could maybe get it slightly closer by further tweaking the white balance, but it is close enough to the accurate 34UC88 beside it for me to not bother. I’m happy with it. The cons: I do think the 1000r curvature radius is too steep. I would much rather see it with the 1900r radius of the LG beside it, but that’s not how they made it. The viewing angle could also be better, but I think that is partly a result of the curve as well. There is some noticeable backlight bleed on a completely black screen when you look for it, but I can’t say I even notice it in a dark game like BG3. Considering it can usually be found under 1000, I think it’s worth it. The further under the better. For over it, I think I would try to find something with oled or a flatter curve.”

Customer Reviews
“The media could not be loaded. Sceptre New Curved 30-inch Gaming Monitor (200+Hz, 2560x1080p, HDMI x2, DP x2, Built-in Speakers) Alright, this is my review for the 30-inch widescreen monitor. First off—bang for your buck. Honestly, for the price, it’s a steal. I set this up yesterday, and it immediately made my setup look really nice. Super easy setup, plug-and-play, no headaches. I’m running it with both HDMI and DisplayPort (love that it has two of each). The extra DisplayPort makes it really convenient if you’re juggling multiple devices. The display itself? Solid. Smooth, crisp, and exactly what I need. It’s a gaming monitor, so keep that in mind—it delivers the performance without breaking the bank. You can tweak the settings too: I’ve been running mine on Eco mode, but switching to Standard brightens it up and makes the display pop even more. Now for the “ugly” (if you can even call it that): the bezels. There’s a bit of a gap you’ll notice, which isn’t a dealbreaker but worth pointing out if you’re picky about symmetry or planning a multi-monitor setup. As for the built-in speakers—I don’t really use them. I’ve got a mic and a TV for audio, but from what I’ve heard, they’re nothing special. Not a loss for me, since I never intended to rely on them. Overall: for the price, you can’t beat it. Ultra-wide screen, 200+Hz refresh rate, smooth visuals, and an easy setup. Definitely recommend it if you want a good-looking, affordable gaming monitor that gets the job done. Sidenote: The monitors does tilt but it does not adjust up or down.. Verdict: Worth the cop. 9/10 for value.”

From day one, the image quality really impressed me: vibrant colors, great brightness, and sharp clarity that makes everything look fantastic. I’ve used it for work, streaming, and gaming, and it performs beautifully in every situation. I haven’t had a single issue so far. Setup was quick and easy, the design is sleek, and the screen is comfortable to look at even after long hours of use. For the price, the quality is beyond what I expected. Overall, this monitor truly delivers and even exceeds expectations. I’d definitely buy it again. Highly recommended!”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Curved Monitor For Flight Sim
Essential Factors We Consider
When selecting the best curved monitor for flight sim, we look at several key factors that directly impact the simulation experience. First and foremost is the screen curvature; a tighter curve like 1000R or 1500R offers deeper immersion compared to a gentler 1800R. The screen size and aspect ratio are also crucial. Ultrawide monitors (21:9 or 32:9) provide a significantly wider field of view, which is invaluable for spotting instruments and seeing more of your virtual environment. Resolution matters too; QHD (2560×1440) or WUHD (5120×2160) on larger or ultrawide screens ensures sharp details. Finally, refresh rate and response time are critical for smooth motion, preventing blur and stuttering during fast maneuvers, with 144Hz or higher and 1ms response times being ideal. We also consider color accuracy and brightness for realistic visuals.
Budget Planning
Curved monitors for flight simulations can range widely in price. Entry-level options, like the Sceptre 30-inch monitor, offer a great ultrawide experience at a budget-friendly price, often falling under $300. Mid-range monitors, such as the ViewSonic or CRUA, typically sit between $400 and $600, providing a better balance of features, size, and performance. High-end models, like the Samsung Odyssey G7, can cost $700 and upwards, offering premium features, larger sizes, and higher resolutions. When planning your budget, consider not only the monitor itself but also the potential need for a more powerful graphics card to drive higher resolutions and refresh rates, especially for ultrawide displays. Investing in a good monitor arm for curved monitors or a sturdy monitor stand for curved display can also enhance your setup and ergonomics.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right curved monitor for flight sim is about finding that sweet spot between immersion, performance, and your budget. An ultrawide curved display can transform your simulation experience, making you feel more present in the cockpit. Whether you opt for a budget-friendly ultrawide or a premium, high-resolution monster, the key is to find a monitor that enhances your enjoyment and realism. Don’t forget to consider accessories like monitor risers or shelves, such as a monitor shelf for curved ultrawide monitor setups, to optimize your desk space and ergonomics.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the best curvature for a flight simulator monitor?
A: For flight simulators, a tighter curvature like 1000R or 1500R is generally preferred. This aggressive curve wraps around your field of vision more effectively, creating a more immersive experience and reducing the perception of screen edges. While 1800R is still good, the tighter curves offer a more enveloping view for simulators.
Q: Should I get an ultrawide monitor for flight sims?
A: Yes, an ultrawide monitor (21:9 or 32:9 aspect ratio) is highly recommended for flight simulators. The expanded horizontal field of view allows you to see more of the cockpit instruments and the surrounding environment without having to turn your virtual head as much, significantly enhancing immersion and situational awareness.
Q: What resolution is best for a curved flight sim monitor?
A: For ultrawide monitors, QHD (3440×1440) is a great sweet spot, offering sharp visuals without requiring an extremely powerful PC. For larger or more premium ultrawide displays, WUHD (5120×2160) provides incredible detail but demands a top-tier graphics card. Standard 16:9 monitors benefit from QHD (2560×1440) or even 4K (3840×2160) for exceptional clarity.
Q: How important is the refresh rate for flight simulators?
A: While flight simulators are not as fast-paced as competitive shooters, a higher refresh rate (120Hz or 144Hz and above) still contributes to a smoother visual experience, especially during flight maneuvers or when panning the camera. A low response time (1ms) is also beneficial to minimize motion blur.
Q: Do I need a high-end PC to run a curved ultrawide monitor for flight sims?
A: Yes, running a curved ultrawide monitor at higher resolutions (like QHD or WUHD) and high refresh rates for flight simulators will require a powerful PC, particularly a strong graphics card. Flight simulators are demanding, and pushing more pixels on an ultrawide display further increases the load. Ensure your system specs are up to par to fully enjoy the visual fidelity.
Ultimately, the best curved monitor for flight sim is the one that best fits your needs and budget. By considering screen size, curvature, resolution, and refresh rate, you can find a display that pulls you into the virtual cockpit and makes every flight an unforgettable experience.
