Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “This monitor is fantastic. I went from an aging Nixeus 27″ 1440p IPS LCD to an MSI MAG 27″ OLED that broke within 6 hours, to this monitor, and am very happy with it. At under $500, it’s a solid price given the feature list. The response times (input lag) are fantastic, and it supports 240hz adaptive refresh rate with both Gsync and Freesync. It’s got HDMI and Displayport connectivity. And, it’s an OLED monitor. Being an OLED means the color reproduction is fantastic and damn near 100%, so coming from an LCD you’ll notice a huge boost to color contrast. Blacks will be black, not dark gray, and colors will be accurate, allowing you to notice subtle color gradients and other details you wouldn’t notice before. The monitor is easy to use, with a single control knob on the underside that allows you to both turn off the monitor and go into the settings. You can change things like brightness and picture mode, as well as ‘peak brightness’ which impacts the max brightness your screen can hit in localized spots during HDR content. Overall, works great. I will say the colors don’t quite pop out as much as on the MSI MAG QD-OLED, but it’s also more color accurate and easier on the eyes. Trying to read anything on the MSI had my eyes watering and they felt like they were being poked, so I guess it’s sort of a gift that I had to return it and get the LG.”
Customer Review: “I got this monitor for around 440$, for this value its absolutely amazing. Of course OLED looks fantastic but its also really smooth and has great colors. The refresh rate at this price is pretty good and the size for me works best, I’ve tried bigger monitors and for competitive gaming this size works way better for me so I’m not overly looking for the corners of HUD’s. The menu has all the options you’d expect also and it gets plenty bright for me. Cant speak on the stand as I immediately mounted it on a desk mount. It incredibly thin, like… wayyy too thin, its super cool, but sometimes I feel like I’m gonna snap it in half moving it closer or further away. I don’t think it would actually break like that just what it feels like so no big deal.”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “The media could not be loaded. It’s an OLED so its gonna be good. I didn’t have any text fringing or eye strain even after 4 hours straight use. Picture quality is great. Brightness is good enough for me. I’m impressed by the colors on it. It doesn’t get any better in this price. Now the cons are that the upper side of the panel is very thin so if I want to tilt it up or down with my monitor arm I’d feel more confident doing it holding the bottom part. The HDMI doesn’t support more than 165hz on this monitor so I had to use display port for that sweet 240hz refresh rate. You could use an HDMI to DP cable if you don’t have any display port option in your pc or laptop. The bezels are a bit thicker than I expected, You’ll notice it if you work or play in bright room. For me it’s no problem. My roommate has an Samsung g5 OLED and it feels smaller than that for some reason even though it’s same size. (Image quality is better than Samsung in this). It’s a glossy display, part of the reason why content looks better than Samsung g5. But in a bright room or average light room if you are watching something dark-ish you will see all the reflection on it. While gaming it’s not noticeable. Overall a little bit adjustment but very good for the price.”
Customer Review: “For the price this is an excellent monitor. At first glance the monitor may look a little dim, but if you mess around with the settings you’ll see the burn in protection settings are turned on by default. Specifically “Uniform Brightness” which dims the entire monitor. Pretty sweet for web browsing and coding and stuff, where some elements might be in the same spot for a while. Turning it off however, makes the screen look fantastic. Super deep darkness with vibrant colors, especially if you take the time to find the right hdr settings. All in all for 360 dollars this is a stellar buy.”

Customer Review: “Hey y’all, I don’t normally do reviews but felt obligated to make sure people who buy this monitor get the best out of their purchase as many are likely like me who just wanted a plug and play experience. Unfortunately, it was not the case for me to make it to my taste. I am by no means an expert on monitors as a casual enjoyer, but as an engineer, I spent a few hours looking into why my monitor was not popping in HDR. Even so, I do believe this is one of the best monitors to get for the price point compared to others, and my eyes have changed forever (haha). I currently have owned this for a few days so I will try to update this over the next few weeks. I aim this to be a casual chat but go to a section if you are curious, each about a few minutes of reading. TL:DR at the bottom. Thanks for reading! Have a blessed day. OLED, 240Hz, 1440p, it’s all great! Black’s are black, pictures are crisp and pop, and games look immaculate. I never knew colors were so washed compared to my old monitor… but I am easy to please. The first day I received this monitor was unfortunately a significant pain in my rear as I try to figure out why certain behaviors exist and why I can’t do what others seemingly can. I will go over different aspects depending on my experience in the following order. 1. Unboxing 2. Setup & Update 3. HDR / How to make it look alright 4. Maintenance 5. Benefits of OLED…”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “First off, let me get this out of the way – This probably isn’t the exact same model as the reviews you might have read about the other X27U monitors. Check the exact model number so there are no surprises. This model is substantially cheaper than those for a reason: the panel on it isn’t quite as nice as those. With that said, it’s still a phenomenal display. I have it next to a very good 27″ IPS display, and it just eats its lunch. You can’t even compare the two, it’s not a fair fight. You probably hear a lot about how good the blacks are, but something nobody talks about is how that makes colors look. When you have a crimson red on your IPS display, the nature of it introduces a little bit of grey. It looks good, but then you put that same color on this QD-OLED and its amazing the difference. Its an entirely different color that is richer, bolder, and genuine. Everything on the IPS seems so washed out while everything on this QD-OLED just pops off of your screen. The build quality is what you would expect from a budget OLED. Its plastic, the I/O has just enough ports, and you just have to look at it long enough to mount it. I can’t comment on the stand because this went from the box to a monitor arm. The display is glossy but its not a mirror by any means. Performance is great. I used a displayport cabled certified for high bandwidth and I had no uses when I set the refresh rate to 240hz. When I switched the input to HDMI and turned on my PS5, the PS5 showed that everything that you’d expect works. VRR, HDR, it just works out of the box. The display is a little dim, but I wouldn’t call it unusable by any means. I have my brightness pushed to 100 because I like a bright display and it gets bright enough where I am not complaining. Do I wish it was 50 nits brighter like the other models in this lineup? Yes, but even right next to the IPS display that is 300 nits, I don’t really think its that massive of a difference. I love a bright display and I know OLED just can’t do that. I could have bought another display that is 300 nits, but then I’d wish it was 350. If I got one that was 400 nits, I’d wish it was 450. This display looks good and that’s what’s important to me. Overall, I am giving this a perfect score. It has its flaws, but nothing that wasn’t there in the listing. It does exactly what it was advertised to do, and also blew out my expectations for in terms of colors, so 5/5.”
Customer Review: “This is my first Oled monitor it looks great but I feel like their is better out there. If this will be your first purchase of a Oled monitor I would recommend it for the price. But if you have the money to splurge a bit, put in a little more research and invest in 4k Oled. Only if you can run it consistently. In my opinion would be best for the most modern set up”
Complete Buying Guide for Best Budget OLED Gaming Monitor
Essential Factors We Consider
When hunting for the best budget OLED gaming monitor, we focus on a few key aspects that truly matter for an enhanced gaming experience. Primarily, we look at the panel technology itself – ensuring it’s true OLED or QD-OLED for those perfect blacks and vibrant colors. Then, we scrutinize refresh rates and response times; anything less than 240Hz and 0.03ms feels like a missed opportunity for this display tech. Resolution is also critical, with QHD (1440p) being the sweet spot for most gamers, offering sharp visuals without demanding an ultra-high-end GPU. Connectivity, like HDMI 2.1 for console compatibility, and adaptive sync technologies (G-Sync/FreeSync) are also non-negotiables for smooth, tear-free gameplay.
Budget Planning
Setting a budget for a best budget OLED gaming monitor means managing expectations, but it’s becoming increasingly feasible. While OLED technology was once prohibitively expensive, we’re now seeing models dip into more accessible price ranges, especially during sales events. Plan to spend anywhere from $400 to $700 for a solid budget OLED, depending on sales and specific features. Remember to factor in the cost of a capable GPU if yours isn’t up to par for QHD or high refresh rates; you can explore our guides on best budget 1440p gaming monitors and best budget 1440p monitor for gaming for GPU considerations.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right budget OLED gaming monitor is about finding that sweet spot between cutting-edge technology and affordability. These monitors offer a visual upgrade that few other technologies can match, transforming your games with unparalleled contrast and color. While they might come with minor trade-offs compared to their premium counterparts, the core OLED experience is very much intact, making them an excellent investment for any serious gamer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are budget OLED gaming monitors worth it?
A: Absolutely! Even budget OLED gaming monitors offer a significant upgrade in visual quality, particularly in terms of contrast, black levels, and color vibrancy, compared to traditional LCD monitors. For the price, you’re getting a truly immersive experience that’s hard to replicate.
Q: What is the main advantage of an OLED gaming monitor?
A: The biggest advantage is the perfect black levels and infinite contrast ratio. Each pixel can be turned off individually, leading to unparalleled depth and realism in dark scenes, which is crucial for atmospheric games and reducing eye strain.
Q: What is considered a good refresh rate and response time for a budget OLED gaming monitor?
A: For a budget OLED gaming monitor, a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time are considered excellent and are what you should aim for. These specs ensure incredibly smooth motion and virtually eliminate motion blur, giving you a competitive edge.
Q: Can I use a budget OLED gaming monitor for console gaming?
A: Yes, many of these monitors come with HDMI 2.1 ports, which are essential for unlocking features like 4K at 120Hz (though most budget OLEDs are 1440p at 240Hz) on current-gen consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Always check the specific model’s connectivity.
Q: What are the potential downsides of budget OLED gaming monitors?
A: Potential downsides can include a glossy screen that might cause reflections, slightly lower peak brightness compared to high-end models, and the general need for more careful maintenance to prevent burn-in (though modern OLEDs have robust protection features). The resolution might also be capped at 1440p to keep costs down, unlike some premium 4K OLEDs.
