4 Top OLED Monitors: Unlock Peak Brightness

First off, let me get this out of the way – This probably isn’t the exact same model as the reviews you might have read about the other X27U monitors. Check the exact model number so there are no surprises. This model is substantially cheaper than those for a reason: the panel on it isn’t quite as nice as those.With that said, it’s still a phenomenal display. I have it next to a very good 27″ IPS display, and it just eats its lunch. You can’t even compare the two, it’s not a fair fight. You probably hear a lot about how good the blacks are, but something nobody talks about is how that makes colors look. When you have a crimson red on your IPS display, the nature of it introduces a little bit of grey. It looks good, but then you put that same color on this QD-OLED and its amazing the difference. Its an entirely different color that is richer, bolder, and genuine. Everything on the IPS seems so washed out while everything on this QD-OLED just pops off of your screen.The build quality is what you would expect from a budget OLED. Its plastic, the I/O has just enough ports, and you just have to look at it long enough to mount it. I can’t comment on the stand because this went from the box to a monitor arm. The display is glossy but its not a mirrror by any means.Performance is great. I used a displayport cabled certififed for high bandwidth and I had no uses when I set the refresh rate to 240hz. When I switched the input to HDMI and turned on my PS5, the PS5 showed that everything that you’d expect works. VRR, HDR, it just works out of the box.The display is a little dim, but I wouldn’t call it unusable by any means. I have my brightness pushed to 100 because I like a bright display and it gets bright enough where I am not complaining. Do I wish it was 50 nits brighter like the other models in this lineup? Yes, but even right next to the IPS display that is 300 nits, I don’t really think its that massive of a difference. I love a bright display and I know OLED just can’t do that. I could have bought another display that is 300 nits, but then I’d wish it was 350. If I got one that was 400 nits, I’d wish it was 450. This display looks good and that’s what’s important to me.Overall, I am giving this a perfect score. It has its flaws, but nothing that wasn’t there in the listing. It does exactly what it was advertised to do, and also blew out my expectations for in terms of colors, so 5/5.

This is my first Oled monitor it looks great but I feel like their is better out there. If this will be your first purchase of a Oled monitor I would recommend it for the price. But if you have the money to splurge a bit, put in a little more research and invest in 4k Oled. Only if you can run it consistently. In my opinion would be best for the most modern set up

Monitor has great visuals for my PS5 and works amazingly well. MiniLed has been a game changer for those who don’t want to go OLED with fear of burn in. 1440p at 24.5 inches looks very crisp and make sure you have an hdmi 2.1 cable to access VRR on PS5. It will output 4k signal and downscale it. HDR looks awesome on this monitor and you can fine tune it with the OSD to fit your preferences. Great monitor in general and the price is an added bonus.

The 24.5” 1440p is an incredibly sharp picture. The colors produced by the panel are deep and rich. The local dimming works very well and gives the picture a deep,-3 dimensional look. When used alone or with other leds, this has a fast response time without visual artifacts. Say, it would next it the next levelThe viewing angle is not as wide as a traditional ips but still is fine. I would change 2 things if I was able too, better built in speakers and a glossy screen. First the speakers, only good for a quick zoom meeting, that’s it. My dell work laptop sounds so much better, and that’s a 14’’ laptop. But the biggest change would be glossy. That would be a game changer.

Been using this for two days now and everything is great. I have a dual Xeon workstation and gaming PC connected via KVM. After I got everything hooked up I maxed out the refresh rate at 240 Hz. Right off the bat I got really bad flickering, like multiple flickers per second and only happened at 240Hz. Fortunately, the problem was with my DP cable. Even though it was a Dp 1.4 it just couldn’t support that high of a signal. Bought a new one. switched it out, and everything is great.Now, if you were like me I hesitated because my monitor is shared for work and play. I didn’t know how bad the text would be considering how that is not a strong suit. The text isn’t as sharp as my previous monitor but not a big deal at all. As a matter of fact, I am already used to it and don’t think about it anymore.The blacks on this thing is absolutely amazing. The colors are so vibrant and rich and gaming looks so much better, even compared to a non OLED 4k monitor.The one thing that I was not too thrilled about is the auto dimming feature. If I switched from my desktop to MS word, you would see some minor dimming. I found out this is part of the built-in screen saving options. Not sure which ones so I turned them all off. I am not overly worried about burn-in. If it happens then I will use my 3-year warranty. For some reason Amazon won’t let me write an independent review, even though it is a different model so I am including it in this review. Without exaggeration, this may be the best monitor ever. It just took a few minutes to change the settings based on what I like. The colors are so vibrant and blacks are so deep. I seriously cannot think of anything on which to improve the quality on this monitor, except for one. There is noticeable flicking if I have VRR enabled. Certainly not a deal breaker but you can see it flicker if you pay close enough attention. Other than that, it’s perfect and worth the $$$$.

Love it! Have had it for maybe 3 weeks now no issues. Picture quality is great u definitely need the right HDMI cord that can support the type of quality u are trying to stream. Xbox supports 4K and comes with 2.1HDMI so I am able to use 4k at 60hz for watching things on this monitor and it will activate the HDR settings at that point.The only “con” I would say which isn’t really a con just an annoying thing is the pixel cleaning. I make sure to do it whenever I have the pop up bc I don’t want burn it but it takes like 6 minutes and sometimes I just wanna get right on and play but I have to wait. But it’s worth it for the longevity of the monitor. U do need speakers it has no speakers. I did see some flickering at one point I never knew what that was before but I only saw it the one time and after fixing my settings to turnoff VRR it stopped so that’s good. Picture quality u will have to mess with the setting a lot to see what u like best but there are 2 settings save slots so u can save ur settings and load them.I have1 setting for when im gaming i jus hit to load that pre saved setup and the when I watching something i switch to my other saved settings so i dont have to go through and change everything all the time.Also for playing games, I play rivals mostly, that cross hair feature is lowkey a cheat bc I can better see my cross hair than the actual game crosshair and it has a dynamic function so it changes colors depending on the colors on the screen so it’s never hard to see it always does a contrasting color to make it easier to see. It has come in handy a lot. In the photo that Red Crosshair on the screen that’s the one I’m talking about that it a feature of the monitor that’s not from the game.Definitely is worth the money. I used amazons payment plan bc it is kinda expensive but I think it’s worth it and I like the rainbow color lighting effects the symbol does on the back it’s cuteeee.

My son loves this gaming monitor. He wanted one to play his games on the Xbox. It looks great. He even says it might be too big as he isn’t too far away from it. It is perfect for his gaming need. It is bright and shows all his games on the screen quick, refreshing amazing.We got this on sale at an amazing price, This was an excellent buy. If we need another monitor I will look at this company again.

It was washed out at first when I got it now it’s looking a lot better but I still need tweak a couple of settings but it support my ps5 it got 2×2.1hdmi ports and 2xdp1.4 ports and it work 120hz ps5 and it support vrr and allm after you cut on adaptive sync. my camera is a little bad but looks good it’s worth the money I got it for 150$+tax but I wish the speakers was a little better but not really a big deal and it does 270hz overclocked on my 2018 MacBook Pro i7
