Customer Reviews
“So far 5/5 as long as it continues working as it does it’s phenomenal. Great quality for gaming, specifically stuff like new CoD games, fallout, l4d2, dead island 2, etc etc. haven’t used the dp cable yet. Think I had it upside down when trying to plug in so I gave up and used HDMI but still great for a gamer who relies heavily on having a great setup. K/d ratio in my prime on CoD was 4.00+ but getting old now, slowing down. Still 1.5+ on games I barely know (bo7, mw3 new). Fallout 4 is also great looking, and Diablo 2 resurrected in max settings. Running a Thermaltake PC with a 5070ti gfx card (I think!). Will report back later with more. Great frames, great color, fast response. Com ability is great so far with everything, and adjustments are easy and even auto a lot of the time. Sound not fantastic but it’s a moniter not a speaker.”

Customer Reviews
“I had been looking for a new monitor for awhile and had been researching for a new one. I decided I wanted a high quality display, but burn in was a fear I was having for alot of the new OLED monitors since I do a good amount of office work/internet browsing in addition to some gaming. Thats why when I saw this monitor go on sale I jumped onboard. I have been nothing but happy with this purchase as I get the wide screen experience, but still get the height I need for my office work. Much cheaper than the LG and Dell options, yes I know it is a VA panel, but as the monitor sits directly in front of me at my desk I have NO issues with viewing angles or anything like that. A great monitor overall and if you can get it on sale it is a NO BRAINER to purchase. Picture quality is great, screen is bright enough for my office and everything is functioning as I would expect. My 4080 video card truely allows this monitor to shine. Highly recommend for those of you who dont want to risk the burn in of OLED or avoid the high prices of the OLED screens. Obviously those other monitors may have better blacks and brightness, but for the price you won’t be disappointed. I will admit, that like most Samsung monitors/TVs, you do need to do some adjustments to get a more accurate color, but that little bit of work is well worth it.”
– Customer Review
“I am very happy with the purchase and it’s worth the money when it’s well under a thousand. I wanted something bigger and higher res for playing games on plus general internet and streaming. This does that great. The color isn’t as accurate as on my previous LG IPS monitor, but sitting side by side I can get it fairly close. Plenty good for gaming and movies. I use the included display port cable and have not seen any flickering on an AMD gpu and Linux. You will need a beefy video card to push this many pixels in games.Picture is not great out of the box. I use Custom: Brightness 40, Contrast 32, Sharpness 15, Color 30, Tint R2, Local Dim high, Contrast Enhance off, Color Tone warm 1, White Balance (-1 r, -2 b), Gamma 2, Shadow Detail 0, Color Space native for Picture looks great. FreeSync on, Black Equalizer 0 on the Game tab. I could maybe get it slightly closer by further tweaking the white balance, but it is close enough to the accurate 34UC88 beside it for me to not bother. I’m happy with it.The cons: I do think the 1000r curvature radius is too steep. I would much rather see it with the 1900r radius of the LG beside it, but that’s not how they made it. The viewing angle could also be better, but I think that is partly a result of the curve as well. There is some noticeable backlight bleed on a completely black screen when you look for it, but I can’t say I even notice it in a dark game like BG3.Considering it can usually be found under 1000, I think it’s worth it. The further under the better. For over it, I think I would try to find something with oled or a flatter curve.”

Customer Reviews
“I love this monitor. I switched to this from a dual monitor setup with displays provided by my company (27” 60hz). The difference is unbelievable. The clarity is great, it’s super easy to snap windows to each side of my screen to be efficient at work while also having a big and immersive picture for videos and games. I haven’t done any benchmarking to see how accurate the colors are, etc., but overall it has been great in the first week.BTW, the listing didn’t mention this, but this monitor has a built in speaker that is acceptable if you’re not an audiophile. It also has “rgb” lighting on the back that creates a nice effect on your wall and reduces eye strain a bit.I bought this on an insane sale for $760. I think even at its normal price it would be a great display”
– Customer Review
“The 39 inch size was perfect for me personally. Didn’t feel too big for a desk but was so immersive. Color quality is exceptional and the monitor feels high quality. I also found that when I played games that had to be played in a 16:9 format, it still looked good on the monitor. The internal speakers are also unexpectedly good and has a nice depth effect.”

Customer Reviews
“So far it’s a great monitor. So first of the sound…. Never had a monitor with speakers but these are loud and sound good. Not great like a headset but good enough when you want to give your ears a break. They are a little muffled due to beaing in the housing.Picture quality…It amazes me at the quality and sharpness of games even on 2560×1080 330hz mode. I have always wanted a widescreen 4k monitor when I seen this at another store on display I had to try it especially when it was on sale for 25% off. It didn’t look as good in the store as it does at home. Search online for the best color settings and this monitor will surpass the DW3225qf in gaming. On paper the colors of a WOLED aren’t as good as the QD OLED, but if you only use it for gaming that won’t make a noticeable difference. The colors are still vibrant even in hdr.Final thoughts….For some reason gsync doesn’t work on the 3225QF as well as this monitor. Games at 240hz on the 3225QF had stutter and tearing. All the games I tested on this monitor are silky smooth. At 2560X1080 Battlefield 6 runs at 600 fps, almost 2x the refresh rate, but it’s still smooth and no tearing. This is an amazing widescreen monitor I am glad I purchased.”

“Not saying anything not already said but will expand.Upgraded from a Samsung 49 inch monitor (CRG9), and I can’t recommend the upgrade enough! I am running at full resolution (maybe not full speed) with a couple of 10 series NVIDIA cards on a (almost) 10 year old PC, which is both a commentary on the quality of the old cards and the flexibility of this monitor. The brightness in comparison is insane! The old monitor was much heavier with this one being much easier to move/manipulate; especially love the ease with which it will raise and lower. Resolution is crisp and the size is perfect! While the 49 inch monitor gave a ‘smaller’ resolution over a wider screen, with the LG seemingly much larger in comparison even at 5K; however, instead of giving you small print and tiny video game characters to watch, you get to appreciate the fine detail and clarity with a taller and more narrow screen. Your first thought will be “the resolution is not a effectively good” but you realize the meant you have to swivel your head side-to-side across a really wide monitor. While the curve seems aggressive, it is completely natural while viewing. It is a more expensive monitor but you are getting what you pay for.”

Customer Reviews
“This thing is absolutely gorgeous and consistent with the quality I would expect from high end LG panels. I use it exclusively for 1440p gaming. Primarily sim racing titles but the extra height these have vs some of the other ultra wide options out there is really nice for non sim racing games.”
– Customer Review
“Omg this thing is humongous! The screen looks amazing and the curve in envelopes you. This monitor paired with my Tobii eye and head tracker are an amazing pair in my opinion a better option than VR once you get it tuned into your play style. The base is heavier than the monitor so it is extremely stable and won’t be going anywhere when you might bump into it or anything. All around great the hight adjustment is extremely smooth but it is a little difficult to get it to stay exactly where you want it without resetting it and trying to get the exact spot again. The refresh rate and response time are top tier as well so very little flickering and stuttering if at all. I got it on sale for $800ish and I feel like I stole it at that price. All around 5 stars!”

Complete Buying Guide for Best 40 Inch Oled Monitor
Essential Factors We Consider
When we’re looking for the best 40-inch OLED monitor, a few key things always stand out. First, the panel technology is king – we’re talking about OLED for those perfect blacks and vibrant colors that just make everything pop. Then there’s the resolution; for a 40-inch monitor, you want something sharp enough to fill that screen without looking pixelated, so we’re often looking at WUHD or even higher. Refresh rate and response time are crucial for gaming and smooth motion, so we prioritize monitors with at least 120Hz, and ideally 144Hz or higher, with response times under 1ms. Connectivity is also important, especially for modern gaming consoles and high-end PCs, so we look for HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort options. Finally, features like HDR support, G-SYNC/FreeSync compatibility, and ergonomic adjustments add to the overall user experience.
Budget Planning
Let’s be real, 40-inch OLED monitors are an investment. These high-end displays come with a premium price tag, and you can expect to spend anywhere from $800 to well over $1500, depending on the specific features and brand. It’s wise to set a budget beforehand and then see which monitors fit within that range. Keep an eye out for sales and promotions, especially around major shopping holidays, as you might be able to snag a fantastic deal. Remember, while the upfront cost might seem high, the incredible visual experience and longevity of a quality OLED monitor can make it a worthwhile purchase for years to come.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right 40-inch OLED monitor really comes down to what you’ll be using it for most. If you’re a hardcore gamer, prioritize those high refresh rates and low response times. For creative professionals, resolution and color accuracy might be more critical. Regardless of your primary use, a 40-inch OLED monitor offers an unparalleled visual experience that can elevate everything you do on your computer. Do your research, consider your needs, and get ready to be blown away by the picture quality.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the main advantage of an OLED monitor?
A: The primary advantage of OLED monitors is their ability to produce perfect blacks. Each pixel emits its own light and can be turned off completely, resulting in infinite contrast ratios and incredibly vibrant colors that are impossible to achieve with traditional LCD technology. This also leads to faster response times and wider viewing angles.
Q: Are 40-inch OLED monitors good for productivity?
A: Absolutely! The large screen real estate of a 40-inch monitor, combined with the stunning clarity and color of OLED, makes it fantastic for productivity. You can fit more windows side-by-side, enjoy detailed work in creative applications, and experience immersive multitasking. Ultrawide resolutions on these monitors further enhance productivity.
Q: What is the difference between QD-OLED and WOLED?
A: QD-OLED (Quantum Dot OLED) technology uses a layer of quantum dots to enhance the color purity and brightness of the OLED panel. WOLED (White OLED) uses a white subpixel to improve brightness and color accuracy. Both offer the benefits of OLED, but QD-OLED is generally considered to offer superior color volume and peak brightness.
Q: Can I use a 40-inch OLED monitor for gaming?
A: Yes, many 40-inch OLED monitors are designed specifically for gaming. They often feature high refresh rates (120Hz, 144Hz, or even 240Hz) and incredibly fast response times (often 0.1ms or lower), which are essential for smooth and responsive gameplay. Features like G-SYNC and FreeSync compatibility are also common.
Q: Is an OLED monitor worth the extra cost?
A: For many users, especially gamers and content creators who prioritize visual quality and performance, an OLED monitor is absolutely worth the extra cost. The unparalleled contrast, vibrant colors, and incredible responsiveness offer a viewing experience that’s difficult to match. However, if your budget is very tight or you primarily use your monitor for basic tasks, a high-quality IPS or VA monitor might be sufficient.
So, there you have it – a deep dive into some of the best 40-inch OLED monitors available right now. Whether you’re a hardcore gamer craving the ultimate visual experience or a creative professional needing pristine image quality, there’s a monitor on this list that can elevate your setup. Remember to consider your primary use, budget, and desk space when making your final decision. Happy shopping, and get ready to experience your digital world like never before!
