Customer Reviews

Customer Review: This monitor is a great value for the price. I mainly use it for work (SAP-heavy tasks) and general web browsing with my Mac mini, and it performs well. It comes with both a USB-C and HDMI cable, which is super convenient for switching between my Mac and ThinkPad. The remote aids in the switching between PC and smart monitor use (picture quality is ok but I didnt expect a lot of a monitor since it isn’t a tv) Assembly was easy, and the display quality is nice—though I did tweak the contrast and color settings to my liking. The built-in sound is decent, and while I’m not picky about audio, it’s more than fine for everyday use. My only gripe is with the smart TV feature—when using apps like Peacock, the resolution doesn’t fill the screen, leaving black bars on the sides (included a photo). Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. Overall, I’m glad I kept it. It’s proven that you don’t have to drop $1,300 on an iMac—pairing a Mac Mini with this monitor cost me under $1,000 and works just as well. If LG tossed in a second USB-C cable and fixed the resolution issue, they’d have a customer for life.

Customer Review: I bought this monitor to get more viewing space and the curved screen. But, it took me sometime to figure out how to get it to work properly because I am using a docking station that only support USB-C upstream at 5Gbps/100W and 2K HDMI, 4K HDMI. This monitor has 5M pixel (3440×1440) that is equivalent to 2.5K. If your docking station only supports 2K HDMI, the image will be blurry. Once, I switch to 4K HDMI port on the docking station, the blurry image is gone. Please make sure the HDMI cable is also 4K, too. The one come with the monitor is good. After that, the image is perfect but it flicks (screen black out 2s, come back, and disappear agin) every few seconds, especially when I use Web browser. This basically make it useless. I google the problem, updated my graphic card driver, and it is still the same. I suspected upstream speed of my docking station is too slow. I search internet and it shows 5Gbps is enough for 2.5K. When I connect with my laptop Thunderbold 4 port (40 Gbps), the flicking is gone. It only happens when I connect with my laptop’s USB-C 3.2/DisplayPort/PD (10 Gbps/100W) combo port. At this point, I am pretty sure it is caused by the docking station 5Gbps upstream speed. Therefore, I bought another docking station that support USB-C upstream 10Gbps/100W with 2x HDMI 4K. All problems are gone when it connects with the new docking station. By the way, the USB-C cable come with the monitor only support 5Gbps/100W so that I have to use my own USB-C cable. To sum up, it needs USB-C 3.2 DisplayPort/PD combo port (10 Gbps/100W) connection including the USB-C cable and a 4K HDMI port and cable. Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Very happy with the color and text display quality of this VA panel and no fear of burn-in as this is not an OLED. But still deeper blacks than IPS Black Panels. Was worried about excessive heat generation like in my old plasma TV, but it’s minimal. Much better power/heat efficiency than Mini LED and OLED panels. Have not tested it for gaming but from what I’ve read, it’s great for casual gaming. Excellent value for $ with the USB-C connection to laptop for a clutter-free desktop. Very happy with this purchase!

Customer Review: This is an excellent monitor for my purposes. It was very easy to set up (it took less than 15 minutes), it is nice looking, filled with features, and has a great picture. I am sure I will use it a lot, and can even envision purchasing another.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Good monitor at a great price. I’ve used this with both macOS and Windows and it works perfectly in both. Color accuracy is good as is viewing angles. Contrast and black levels are pretty good for most things. The built-in speakers aren’t worth using and sound terrible. I use it with a monitor mount and would recommend that because the included stand is wobbly. Great for text, programming, spreadsheets and watching videos. Light gaming is perfectly fine on it too and it has 100 Hz refresh rate which is nice.

Customer Review: Great purchase. Clean screen , looks and feels good. Would defiantly recommend using it on a Mac and everything is seamless.

When selecting the best 34-inch curved monitor for office work, we look at several key elements. Screen resolution is paramount; 3440×1440 (UWQHD) is ideal for this size, offering sharp details. Connectivity is crucial, with USB-C ports being a major plus for simplifying desk setups, especially for laptop users. Finally, ergonomics, such as adjustable stands and eye-care technologies like blue light filters, contribute significantly to comfort during long work hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the ideal resolution for a 34-inch curved monitor for office work?

A: For a 34-inch monitor, an Ultra Wide Quad HD (UWQHD) resolution of 3440×1440 is generally considered ideal. This resolution provides enough pixel density for sharp text and ample screen real estate for multitasking without making elements appear too small.

Q: Should I prioritize IPS or VA panels for office work?

A: For office work, both IPS and VA panels have their strengths. IPS panels offer superior color accuracy and wider viewing angles, which are great for collaborative environments or if you do color-sensitive work. VA panels provide higher contrast ratios, meaning deeper blacks and more vibrant colors, which can be more comfortable for long viewing sessions and improve text readability.

Q: How important is the refresh rate for an office monitor?

A: While not as critical as for gaming, a higher refresh rate (100Hz or 120Hz) on an office monitor significantly improves the fluidity of scrolling, window dragging, and general system responsiveness. This can lead to a more comfortable and less fatiguing user experience over long workdays.

Q: What are the benefits of USB-C connectivity on a 34-inch curved monitor?

A: USB-C connectivity allows for a single-cable solution, transmitting video, data, and power to your laptop simultaneously. This greatly simplifies your desk setup, reduces cable clutter, and makes it easier to connect and disconnect your laptop.

Q: Are curved monitors better for office work than flat monitors?

A: For ultrawide monitors like 34-inch displays, curved monitors often offer a more immersive and comfortable viewing experience. The curvature brings the edges of the screen closer to your peripheral vision, reducing distortion and making it easier to take in the entire display without excessive head or eye movement, which can lessen fatigue.
