Customer Review: “I bought this monitor to get more viewing space and the curved screen. But, it took me sometime to figure out how to get it to work properly because I am using a docking station that only support USB-C upstream at 5Gbps/100W and 2K HDMI, 4K HDMI.This monitor has 5M pixel (3440×1440) that is equivalent to 2.5K. If your docking station only supports 2K HDMI, the image will be blurry. Once, I switch to 4K HDMI port on the docking station, the blurry image is gone. Please make sure the HDMI cable is also 4K, too. The one come with the monitor is good. After that, the image is perfect but it flicks (screen black out 2s, come back, and disappear agin) every few seconds, especially when I use Web browser. This basically make it useless. I google the problem, updated my graphic card driver, and it is still the same. I suspected upstream speed of my docking station is too slow. I search internet and it shows 5Gbps is enough for 2.5K. When I connect with my laptop Thunderbold 4 port (40 Gbps), the flicking is gone. It only happens when I connect with my laptop’s USB-C 3.2/DisplayPort/PD (10 Gbps/100W) combo port. At this point, I am pretty sure it is caused by the docking station 5Gbps upstream speed. Therefore, I bought another docking station that support USB-C upstream 10Gbps/100W with 2x HDMI 4K. All problems are gone when it connects with the new docking station. By the way, the USB-C cable come with the monitor only support 5Gbps/100W so that I have to use my own USB-C cable. To sum up, it needs USB-C 3.2 DisplayPort/PD combo port (10 Gbps/100W) connection including the USB-C cable and a 4K HDMI port and cable. Overall, this is a good monitor.”

But still deeper blacks than IPS Black Panels.Was worried about excessive heat generation like in my old plasma TV, but it’s minimal. Customer Review: “After spending some time trying to decide upon a replacement monitor for my old one, I finally decided upon this one, fearing I would not be happy with inferior quality of other cheaper options I have read about.The Asus ProArt PA34VCNV is probably more screen real estate than I need, but figured why not. Better too much than regret buying a smaller one.The quality of the display is excellent. I am not a professional designer, photographer, etc. But I know my picky critical nature and would have been bothered by a poor experience. I am pleasantly surprised to report no detectable dead pixels on this very large panel.One moderate complaint, as others have reported, the USB-C port doesn’t work ideally on my MacBook Pro because after sleeping, the monitor is not awoken and has to be powered off and on. Consequently, I had to use HDMI instead. No big deal for my purposes.One very minor thing to report is there was no warranty card included (as reportedly was supposed to). I was able to register online. But for some reason the warranty start/end dates were wrong. The purchase was 2/5/2024, but the warranty range spanned from the prior year to 2026. However, after contacting customer support, the issue was resolved.We’ll see what the future brings; I will update this review if anything changes…Update (Mar 27, 2024): apparently one of the recent Mac OS updates fixed the USB-C issue. After installing Sonoma 14.4.1 I gave it another test and now the machine and monitor successfully wake from sleep mode.”

It’s very responsive and easy to setup. The colors needed a bit of calibration that I got from a review site but after that it looked good. The quality seems really good for the price. Refresh rate is pretty high but my kid doesn’t have an ultra high end machine so it can’t drive it very often to be honest. Over all though it’s a great monitor that is cheap and gets the job done.”
