Customer Reviews

Customer Review: This monitor is a great value for the price. I mainly use it for work (SAP-heavy tasks) and general web browsing with my Mac mini, and it performs well. It comes with both a USB-C and HDMI cable, which is super convenient for switching between my Mac and ThinkPad. The remote aids in the switching between PC and smart monitor use (picture quality is ok but I didnt expect a lot of a monitor since it isn’t a tv) Assembly was easy, and the display quality is nice—though I did tweak the contrast and color settings to my liking. The built-in sound is decent, and while I’m not picky about audio, it’s more than fine for everyday use. My only gripe is with the smart TV feature—when using apps like Peacock, the resolution doesn’t fill the screen, leaving black bars on the sides (included a photo). Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting.Overall, I’m glad I kept it. It’s proven that you don’t have to drop $1,300 on an iMac—pairing a Mac Mini with this monitor cost me under $1,000 and works just as well. If LG tossed in a second USB-C cable and fixed the resolution issue, they’d have a customer for life.

Customer Review: I bought this monitor to get more viewing space and the curved screen. But, it took me sometime to figure out how to get it to work properly because I am using a docking station that only support USB-C upstream at 5Gbps/100W and 2K HDMI, 4K HDMI.This monitor has 5M pixel (3440×1440) that is equivalent to 2.5K. If your docking station only supports 2K HDMI, the image will be blurry. Once, I switch to 4K HDMI port on the docking station, the blurry image is gone. Please make sure the HDMI cable is also 4K, too. The one come with the monitor is good. After that, the image is perfect but it flicks (screen black out 2s, come back, and disappear agin) every few seconds, especially when I use Web browser. This basically make it useless. I google the problem, updated my graphic card driver, and it is still the same. I suspected upstream speed of my docking station is too slow. I search internet and it shows 5Gbps is enough for 2.5K. When I connect with my laptop Thunderbold 4 port (40 Gbps), the flicking is gone. It only happens when I connect with my laptop’s USB-C 3.2/DisplayPort/PD (10 Gbps/100W) combo port. At this point, I am pretty sure it is caused by the docking station 5Gbps upstream speed. Therefore, I bought another docking station that support USB-C upstream 10Gbps/100W with 2x HDMI 4K. All problems are gone when it connects with the new docking station. By the way, the USB-C cable come with the monitor only support 5Gbps/100W so that I have to use my own USB-C cable. To sum up, it needs USB-C 3.2 DisplayPort/PD combo port (10 Gbps/100W) connection including the USB-C cable and a 4K HDMI port and cable. Overall, this is a good monitor.

Customer Review: Very happy with the color and text display quality of this VA panel and no fear of burn-in as this is not an OLED. But still deeper blacks than IPS Black Panels. Was worried about excessive heat generation like in my old plasma TV, but it’s minimal. Much better power/heat efficiency than Mini LED and OLED panels.Have not tested it for gaming but from what I’ve read, it’s great for casual gaming.Excellent value for $ with the USB-C connection to laptop for a clutter-free desktop. Very happy with this purchase!

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I absolutely love this monitor; it works flawlessly with my M2 MacBook Air. The monitor I had previously just wasn’t playing nice, but this one is the perfect Mac companion. Just plug it in, and you’re all set. Best of all, even though my MacBook Air uses the MagSafe charger (not USB-C), this monitor charges it via the USB-C! connector cable Also, I love that when I turn my MacBook Air on, the monitor almost immediately turns on (my previous monitor had to be manually turned on). The quality is amazing; everything is crisp, and it has vibrant colors.

Customer Review: I was using a 27″ iMac with a 5k screen. Thinking that moving to a 4k screen would be a big step down, I ordered the Asus 5k screen for $800. Did not like it at all. Weird green ghosting when scrolling text. Very dark. So I sent that back to Amazon and got this screen (my wife has had one for years). It cost about 1/3 as much, and for my money, is perfect. It charges my laptop, provides crisp text, great colors. It’s a little slow to wake up, but I can wait a few seconds in the morning. I’m not editing videos or photos, so I can’t comment on the color calibration, but everything looks good to me. For a reliable, sharp, reasonably priced monitor, this seems a great choice.

Complete Buying Guide for Best Curved Monitor For Macbook Air

Essential Factors We Consider

When selecting the best curved monitor for your MacBook Air, we focused on several key aspects. First, resolution is crucial: QHD (2560×1440) or 4K (3840×2160) will provide sharp, detailed visuals that complement your MacBook Air’s Retina display. Screen size and curvature (like 1500R or 1800R) play a big role in immersion and comfort, especially for extended use. Connectivity is also paramount; USB-C with power delivery is a huge plus for a streamlined, single-cable setup. We also looked at refresh rates for smoother scrolling and visuals, as well as color accuracy (like sRGB coverage) for vibrant and true-to-life images. Features like built-in speakers and ergonomic stands add to the overall user experience.

Budget Planning

Curved monitors can range significantly in price. For a curved monitor for MacBook Air, you can expect to spend anywhere from $200 to $600 or more, depending on the size, resolution, and features. Entry-level options like the KOORUI 27″ FHD offer great value for a curved experience, while premium models like the Dell 34-inch QHD provide more advanced features and higher resolutions for a higher cost. Consider what features are most important to you – if a simple, larger curved screen is your goal, you can find excellent options at a lower price point. If you need professional-grade color accuracy or advanced connectivity, be prepared to invest more. Looking for a USB-C monitor for MacBook Air can also help narrow down choices that offer seamless integration.

Choosing the right curved monitor can significantly enhance your workflow and entertainment with your MacBook Air. Consider how you’ll be using the monitor most – for productivity, creative work, or simply browsing and streaming – and let that guide your decision. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the best resolution for a curved monitor with a MacBook Air?

A: For most MacBook Air users, QHD (2560×1440) or 4K (3840×2160) resolution is ideal. QHD offers a great balance of sharpness and performance, while 4K provides the most detail, though it requires more graphics power. A higher resolution ensures that text and images are crisp and clear, matching the quality of your MacBook Air’s Retina display.

Q: Is USB-C connectivity important for a MacBook Air curved monitor?

A: Yes, USB-C connectivity is highly recommended. Many modern curved monitors offer USB-C with power delivery, allowing you to connect your MacBook Air with a single cable for display output, data transfer, and charging. This significantly reduces cable clutter and simplifies your setup.

Q: How curved should my monitor be?

A: Monitor curvature is typically measured in ‘R’ values, such as 1500R or 1800R. A smaller ‘R’ value (e.g., 1500R) indicates a more pronounced curve. For ultrawide monitors, a deeper curve can enhance immersion. For standard 27-inch or 32-inch monitors, a gentler curve or even a flat panel might be preferred by some users, depending on their desk setup and viewing distance.

Q: Can a curved monitor be good for gaming with a MacBook Air?

A: Yes, many curved monitors offer high refresh rates (120Hz or 144Hz) and fast response times that are great for gaming. While MacBook Airs are not typically gaming powerhouses, they can certainly handle casual gaming. A curved display can also enhance the immersive experience of gaming.

Q: Do I need special accessories for a curved monitor with my MacBook Air?

A: Depending on your setup, you might consider accessories like a monitor stand for curved display or a monitor shelf for MacBook to optimize ergonomics and desk space. A good quality USB-C cable is also essential if your monitor doesn’t include one or if you need one with specific power delivery capabilities.

Adding a curved monitor to your MacBook Air setup is a fantastic way to boost productivity and enjoy a more immersive visual experience.
