Customer Reviews

“I’ve been using this 34-inch curved ultrawide monitor for nearly two years for work. For the price, it offers solid value and is easy to recommend. Setup is straightforward, and the instructions are clear. The ultrawide curved display is great for productivity and multitasking, and the monitor feels solid, though it is a bit heavy. However, in terms of sharpness, I didn’t find it on par with some other monitors I’ve used in the past or even my laptop display. Additionally, the stand is not height-adjustable, which would have been a nice improvement. Despite these limitations, it’s still a good ultrawide monitor for the price and works well for everyday work use.”

– Customer Review

“What an amazing monitor for the price… I bought the monitor for about 200$. For the price, it’s amazing. The screen quality is absolutely stunning. I purchased this in advance to pair with a steam machine, but have it hooked up to my Xbox series X in the meantime. The colors are extremely vivid, poppin!! Amazing contrast, sharpness, it’s all there. NO screen tears, no stutters. The image this monitor produces is absolutely gorgeous. NO dead pixels too!!! In my opinion this is an amazing monitor. If you are a gamer, this is for you. Be mindful the screen is VERY wide. I have been faithful to sceptre for about 10 years now, and will continue to purchase sceptre after this. Amazing buy. Customer Reviews

“I had been looking for a new monitor for awhile and had been researching for a new one. I decided I wanted a high quality display, but burn in was a fear I was having for alot of the new OLED monitors since I do a good amount of office work/internet browsing in addition to some gaming. Thats why when I saw this monitor go on sale I jumped onboard. I have been nothing but happy with this purchase as I get the wide screen experience, but still get the height I need for my office work. Much cheaper than the LG and Dell options, yes I know it is a VA panel, but as the monitor sits directly in front of me at my desk I have NO issues with viewing angles or anything like that. A great monitor overall and if you can get it on sale it is a NO BRAINER to purchase. Picture quality is great, screen is bright enough for my office and everything is functioning as I would expect. My 4080 video card truely allows this monitor to shine. Highly recommend for those of you who dont want to risk the burn in of OLED or avoid the high prices of the OLED screens. Obviously those other monitors may have better blacks and brightness, but for the price you won’t be disappointed. I will admit, that like most Samsung monitors/TVs, you do need to do some adjustments to get a more accurate color, but that little bit of work is well worth it.”

– Customer Review

“I am very happy with the purchase and it’s worth the money when it’s well under a thousand. I wanted something bigger and higher res for playing games on plus general internet and streaming. This does that great. The color isn’t as accurate as on my previous LG IPS monitor, but sitting side by side I can get it fairly close. Plenty good for gaming and movies. I use the included display port cable and have not seen any flickering on an AMD gpu and Linux. You will need a beefy video card to push this many pixels in games. Picture is not great out of the box. I use Custom: Brightness 40, Contrast 32, Sharpness 15, Color 30, Tint R2, Local Dim high, Contrast Enhance off, Color Tone warm 1, White Balance (-1 r, -2 b), Gamma 2, Shadow Detail 0, Color Space native for Picture looks great. FreeSync on, Black Equalizer 0 on the Game tab. I could maybe get it slightly closer by further tweaking the white balance, but it is close enough to the accurate 34UC88 beside it for me to not bother. I’m happy with it. The cons: I do think the 1000r curvature radius is too steep. I would much rather see it with the 1900r radius of the LG beside it, but that’s not how they made it. The viewing angle could also be better, but I think that is partly a result of the curve as well. There is some noticeable backlight bleed on a completely black screen when you look for it, but I can’t say I even notice it in a dark game like BG3. Considering it can usually be found under 1000, I think it’s worth it. The further under the better. For over it, I think I would try to find something with oled or a flatter curve.”

Customer Reviews

“This monitor is a great value for the price. I mainly use it for work (SAP-heavy tasks) and general web browsing with my Mac mini, and it performs well. It comes with both a USB-C and HDMI cable, which is super convenient for switching between my Mac and ThinkPad. The remote aids in the switching between PC and smart monitor use (picture quality is ok but I didnt expect a lot of a monitor since it isn’t a tv) Assembly was easy, and the display quality is nice—though I did tweak the contrast and color settings to my liking. The built-in sound is decent, and while I’m not picky about audio, it’s more than fine for everyday use. My only gripe is with the smart TV feature—when using apps like Peacock, the resolution doesn’t fill the screen, leaving black bars on the sides (included a photo). Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. Overall, I’m glad I kept it. It’s proven that you don’t have to drop $1,300 on an iMac—pairing a Mac Mini with this monitor cost me under $1,000 and works just as well. If LG tossed in a second USB-C cable and fixed the resolution issue, they’d have a customer for life.”

– Customer Review

“I bought this monitor to get more viewing space and the curved screen. But, it took me sometime to figure out how to get it to work properly because I am using a docking station that only support USB-C upstream at 5Gbps/100W and 2K HDMI, 4K HDMI. This monitor has 5M pixel (3440×1440) that is equivalent to 2.5K. If your docking station only supports 2K HDMI, the image will be blurry. Once, I switch to 4K HDMI port on the docking station, the blurry image is gone. Please make sure the HDMI cable is also 4K, too. The one come with the monitor is good. After that, the image is perfect but it flicks (screen black out 2s, come back, and disappear agin) every few seconds, especially when I use Web browser. This basically make it useless. I google the problem, updated my graphic card driver, and it is still the same. I suspected upstream speed of my docking station is too slow. I search internet and it shows 5Gbps is enough for 2.5K. When I connect with my laptop Thunderbold 4 port (40 Gbps), the flicking is gone. It only happens when I connect with my laptop’s USB-C 3.2/DisplayPort/PD (10 Gbps/100W) combo port. At this point, I am pretty sure it is caused by the docking station 5Gbps upstream speed. Therefore, I bought another docking station that support USB-C upstream 10Gbps/100W with 2x HDMI 4K. All problems are gone when it connects with the new docking station. By the way, the USB-C cable come with the monitor only support 5Gbps/100W so that I have to use my own USB-C cable. To sum up, it needs USB-C 3.2 DisplayPort/PD combo port (10 Gbps/100W) connection including the USB-C cable and a 4K HDMI port and cable. Overall, this is a good monitor.”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Curved Monitor For Excel

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing the best curved monitor for Excel, several key factors come into play. We prioritize screen size and resolution, as more space and sharper text mean you can view more data without strain. The aspect ratio is crucial; ultrawide monitors (21:9 or 32:9) offer significantly more horizontal real estate, perfect for lining up numerous columns. We also look at refresh rates and response times, which, while often associated with gaming, contribute to a smoother, more fluid experience when navigating large spreadsheets. Comfort features like adjustable stands and eye-care technology are also considered to ensure long-term usability.

Budget Planning

Curved monitors for Excel can range from budget-friendly options to high-end professional displays. For basic productivity, a 27-inch Full HD or QHD curved monitor can be found for under $300. If you’re looking for more screen real estate with an ultrawide aspect ratio and higher resolutions (like 1440p or even 4K ultrawide), expect prices to start around $400-$500 and go upwards of $1000 for premium models. Consider how much time you spend in Excel and what level of detail is necessary for your work to determine the best investment for your budget. A good monitor stand can also enhance your setup, so factor that in if needed.

Final Thoughts

Investing in a curved monitor can genuinely enhance your productivity when working with Excel. The immersive display helps keep all your data within view, reducing eye strain and the need for constant scrolling. Whether you opt for an ultrawide behemoth or a more compact curved display, the benefits for spreadsheet work are undeniable. Remember to consider your desk space and budget to find the perfect fit for your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the best screen size for a curved monitor for Excel?

A: For Excel, larger screen sizes are generally better. 32-inch and 34-inch ultrawide monitors are excellent choices as they provide ample horizontal space to view more columns simultaneously. However, a good 27-inch curved monitor can also be sufficient if desk space is limited.

Q: Should I prioritize resolution or aspect ratio for Excel?

A: Both are important. A higher resolution (like QHD or WUHD) offers sharper text, while an ultrawide aspect ratio (21:9 or 32:9) provides more horizontal screen real estate. For most Excel users, an ultrawide QHD monitor offers a great balance between screen width and clarity.

Q: Are gaming features like high refresh rates important for Excel?

A: While not essential, a higher refresh rate (e.g., 100Hz or 144Hz) can make navigating large spreadsheets feel much smoother and more responsive than a standard 60Hz monitor. It contributes to a more pleasant user experience.

Q: Can a curved monitor help reduce eye strain when working with Excel?

A: Yes, the curve on a monitor helps keep the entire screen within your natural field of vision, reducing the need to refocus your eyes as much. This can significantly decrease eye strain and fatigue during long work sessions, especially when looking at dense spreadsheets.

Q: Do I need a special monitor stand for a curved monitor?

A: Not necessarily. Standard monitor stands or risers can work, but ensure they are compatible with the monitor’s VESA mount if you plan to use one. For ultrawide curved monitors, a sturdy stand or arm is recommended due to their size and weight. You might find a monitor stand for curved display specifically designed to accommodate their shape.

In conclusion, selecting the best curved monitor for Excel can significantly boost your productivity and comfort. By considering factors like screen size, resolution, aspect ratio, and ergonomic features, you can find a display that transforms how you interact with your data. Whether you’re crunching numbers for a business, analyzing research, or managing personal finances, a curved monitor offers a more immersive and efficient workspace. Don’t forget to explore accessories like monitor shelves or light bars to further optimize your setup for extended use.
