Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “I recently upgraded to the MSI MPG 321CURX QD-OLED, and it has completely transformed my gaming experience. If you’re on the fence about jumping to 4K OLED, let me tell you—this is the one to get. Visual Immersion: The QD-OLED panel is stunning. The blacks are perfectly deep, and the colors pop in a way that my old monitors never could. Playing in native 4K resolution is breathtaking; the level of detail is a massive step up. Performance: The responsiveness is incredible. I’ve found that turning off VSync and Near Depth of Field in-game settings really lets this monitor shine. The motion is buttery smooth, and there is zero noticeable input lag. Setup & Compatibility: I’m using this with a VIVO mount, and it fits perfectly. It’s a great way to keep the desk clean while supporting such a premium piece of tech. Premium Features: MSI has been great with firmware support (definitely make sure you update to the latest Scaler/MCU firmware). It’s clear they are actively refining the performance of this panel. Final Thoughts: This isn’t just a monitor; it’s a centerpiece. Whether I’m immersed in a atmospheric horror game or a fast-paced shooter, the clarity and contrast are unmatched. It’s a premium investment, but for the quality of the image and the smoothness of the gameplay, it is worth every penny. Highly recommended for anyone looking to build a top-tier battle station!”
Customer Review: “I’ve used plenty of monitors, but the MSI MPG 491CQP QD-OLED is on another level. If you are looking for that ‘wow’ factor, this is it. The Good: Colors & Contrast: The QD-OLED panel is stunning. Blacks are perfectly deep, and the Quantum Dot tech makes colors pop in a way standard OLEDs can’t match. Insane Immersion: The 32:9 super-ultrawide aspect ratio is basically two 1440p monitors side-by-side without the annoying bezels. Racing games and flight sims feel incredible. Performance: The 0.03ms response time makes motion feel liquid smooth. I noticed an immediate difference in how snappy my inputs felt. Quiet & Cool: Unlike some other 49-inch monitors, this one is fanless (it uses a graphene heatsink). It’s silent, which is a huge plus for late-night gaming. Built-in KVM: This is a life-saver. I can switch between my gaming rig and work laptop while using the same keyboard and mouse. Things to Note: Desk Real Estate: This thing is massive. Make sure your desk is deep enough or get a heavy-duty monitor arm. OLED Care: You’ll get occasional prompts for a pixel refresh to prevent burn-in. It’s a minor 5-minute trade-off for having the best picture quality on the market. Final Verdict: This is easily the best value 49-inch OLED right now. MSI’s 3-year burn-in warranty also gives me a lot of peace of mind. If you want the ultimate gaming setup, just get it.”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “I have an ASUS laptop and I was using (my preferred size screen) 34" Curved Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SD) with similar specs which worked ok but I wanted the additional features and benefits (like GamePlus) you get with ASUS monitors so I sold my Samsung and got the XG34WCDG when it went on sale. I didn’t realize this until after I had purchased but this monitor does not provide any sound functionality. I came to learn this is actually more common on the newer OLED’s. To remedy this I went with the BlueAnt soundbar which pairs perfectly via USB (or Bluetooth). What I love about this monitor is that it doesn’t take up nearly as much electricity as the Samsung OLED (which came with cinder block sized power bank that got very hot very quickly) and the picture quality on the XG34WCDG and HDR is really amazing and I just love. If you play a game like Mafia The Old Country the lighting and visuals are so lifelike it’s incredible and stunning. I’m happy with the trade off of having a superior picture qulaity with no sound. Better picture and visuals than the Samsung and the Samsung was quite good but not this good. The curvature is perfect for me, it’s well built and the monitor tilts and move up and down with ease. It’s very durable. The weight is good, not too heavy and not too difficult to move or manuver around. Here’s my ‘wish list’ for ASUS for how this monitor could be even better. Saving energy is important to me and I have a real case of FOBI (fear of burn in.) That’s why one of my purchasing factors was the The Neo Proximity Sensor and the Neo Proximity Sensor will just not work the way it’s supposed to and I tried my hardest to get it to just work but it refuses. I tried all the settings 60 cm, 90 cm, 120 cm, and Tailored Mode. None of them worked reliably and the monitor will just shut off randomly so I had to turn it off as a solution and that is frustrating becuase I paid for a feature was a poor design and technology that is unreliable. The IR presence sensing doesn’t work effectivly for it. Camera-based detection would have been much better. Another dissapointment is ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) which I spent hours trying to get to work. Here’s the thing:ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) is an ASUS stand-out feature that ONLY works when:- The monitor is running at native resolution- At specific fixed refresh rates- With VRR / Adaptive-Sync completely disabled- And NOT in ELMB-Sync mode (if your monitor supports it)If any one of these is off, ELMB will stay greyed out. Most importantly, ELMB often ONLY works on DisplayPort, NOT HDMI.❌ USB-C → DP adapters can block ELMB❌ HDMI 2.1 sometimes blocks classic ELMBMy laptop does not have a DisplayPort connection. ELMB is impossible on my laptop. There is no cable, adapter, dock, or setting that will make it work. This is not user error and not fixable. It was never a possiblity to turn on or work for me no matter what.I forgot to mention this before regarding the sound but basic speakers you will likley NOT be able to connect to the monitor headphone jack on the XG34WCDG and here’s why:On many newer ROG OLED monitors, ASUS has quietly changed behavior:The 3.5mm jack is:- Not a true analog DAC output.- Often only active in very specific input modes:- Sometimes disabled or unreliable with:- DSC- Certain HDMI/DP audio paths- HDR / high refresh modesThe headphone jack exists, but it is not a dependable analog audio output anymore. So you’re not missing a setting — this is a design limitation, not user error. What this meant for me is AUX (3.5mm) port is not an option so I had to run a longer USB cable to my USB hub instead of a very short, minimal cable from my speaker to my monitor I had initially planned for.Another grip is the monitor USB connection ports. They cannot act as a sound card or send audio to speakers. The USB ports on the XG34WCDG are designed to:Act as a USB hub for:- Keyboard- Mouse- Flash drivesPass data back to the laptop via the USB upstream cableThey do NOT:- Output audio- Enumerate USB audio devices- Provide DAC (digital-to-analog conversion)My last gripe is adjusting the brightness of the monitor is very difficult, inconvenient, and I can only adjust by hard pressing the monitor menu button. This is pretty frustrating. I did figure out a way to do it with the Monitorian application in a couple of clicks so I don’t have to physiclaly press buttons, but it would be nice to assign a hotkey but the ASUS DisplayWidget Center does not work with the shortcut I created.Lastly, if you’re reading this review, I will save you some time and hassle from the research I did for optimal best picture and settings to prevent burn in and for the best picture:✅ Set OLED Anti-Flicker = HIGH✅ Display color space sRGB or DCI-P3 or Wide Gamut = Use sRGB✅ HDR: Off (unless watching HDR content)✅ VRR: On (if supported)✅ Set Color Temp to: 6500K✅ Set Gamma to: 2.2✅ Set Screen Move = LIGHT✅ Virtual Screen = OFF✅ Pixel Cleaning: Run about once every 1,000–2,000 hours if you ever do it manually. Do NOT run it frequently.✅ Leave Uniform Brightness = OFF.✅ Set Shadow Boost = OFF✅ Aspect Control – 21:9 – FullIf you have a DisplayPort on your laptop, get a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable. If you’re like me and only have a laptop with HDMI and/or USB-C the next best option is using a StarTech USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4′”
Customer Review: “I’ve been in the market for a while to replace my old LG monitor (34" ultrawide from 2017), and wanted to move to an OLED screen. I’ve had good success with my existing personal (Zenbook 15") and work laptops (Zenbook 14"), both are OLED and been happy with the screen quality and performance. Shopped around for a bit and settled on this monitor. I always liked the design aesthetics of ASUS ROG, and got a chance to play with this monitor in person a while back. the monitor OSD is pretty straightforward and I’m able to make all the adjustments needed. for the current sell price ($750) it’s a good value, and performance of the monitor so far is exceeding my expectations. for the game I’m currently playing (Dune Awakening) it is absolutely beautiful, and I totally regret not moving to OLED sooner. would recommend if you’re in the market for a good gaming monitor. side note: Amazon packaged this in a larger outside box, which is always nice as you can’t tell what is inside the box (and thus lower chance of theft). YMMV.”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “I’ve gone through a good number of gaming monitors over the years, but this is my first OLED—and the difference hits you immediately. The colors are incredibly vibrant, the contrast is unreal, and the deep blacks make everything look so clean and cinematic. It honestly makes my old IPS and VA panels feel washed out in comparison. The 34" ultrawide size ended up being perfect for my setup. It feels immersive without being too big, and the curve pulls you in just enough. Whether I’m gaming, watching YouTube, or streaming shows, it fills your field of view in a really natural way. For gaming specifically, this thing is a beast. Paired with my 4070 Ti, 2K ultrawide hits that sweet spot of sharp visuals and high FPS. Fast-paced games look buttery smooth, and motion handling on this OLED is noticeably better than any monitor I’ve owned before. The low input lag and high refresh rate make everything feel responsive, and HDR actually looks good on this panel—not like the fake HDR some monitors try to claim. It also has nice quality-of-life touches: easy-to-navigate settings, a clean design, and surprisingly good brightness for an OLED. I haven’t run into any issues with text clarity or burn-in so far. Overall, this is hands down the best monitor I’ve ever used. If you’re thinking about switching to OLED but unsure if it’s worth it, this model will convince you pretty quickly. Totally happy with the upgrade.”
Customer Review: “I’ve been wanting an OLED monitor for some time. When I found this monitor, the price point was so appealing, which has always been the reason I’ve held off on an OLED, that I pulled the trigger. It makes such a difference in my gaming setup. The refresh rate is top-notch, the setup was easy, and the picture quality really delivers on that OLED wow factor. Alienware has always been known for being the sweet spot for any gamer, and this monitor really delivers.”
Complete Buying Guide for Best 4K OLED Ultrawide Monitor
Essential Factors We Consider
When picking the best 4K OLED ultrawide monitors, we looked at a few key things. Picture quality is paramount, so we focused on OLED panels for their perfect blacks and vibrant colors. We also considered resolution (4K UHD), aspect ratio (21:9 or wider for ultrawide), refresh rate for smooth motion, response time for clarity in fast scenes, and features like HDR support and color accuracy. Ergonomics and build quality are important too, ensuring the monitor is comfortable to use and built to last. For anyone serious about their visual setup, a good monitor arm, like the best adjustable monitor riser for ultrawide monitor, can also make a big difference.
Budget Planning
Monitors featuring 4K OLED ultrawide technology are typically premium products, reflecting the advanced technology involved. Expect prices to be higher compared to standard LED or IPS displays. While some models offer great value, particularly in the “budget” category for OLEDs, it’s essential to set a realistic budget. Remember to factor in potential costs for accessories like a high-quality monitor arm or a specialized desk setup if needed.
Final Thoughts
Choosing a 4K OLED ultrawide monitor is an investment in an exceptional visual experience. Whether you prioritize gaming performance, creative work, or immersive media consumption, these monitors offer a level of detail and color accuracy that is hard to beat. Carefully consider your primary use case and budget to find the perfect display that will enhance your digital life for years to come.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the main advantage of an OLED ultrawide monitor over a standard ultrawide?
A: The primary advantage is the OLED panel’s ability to produce perfect blacks and infinite contrast ratios, leading to more vibrant colors and incredible detail that standard LED or IPS panels cannot match. This makes for a much more immersive and visually stunning experience.
Q: Are 4K OLED ultrawide monitors good for gaming?
A: Absolutely! They offer extremely fast response times, high refresh rates, and stunning image quality, which are all crucial for a superior gaming experience. The ultrawide aspect ratio also provides a wider field of view, giving you an edge in many games.
Q: What should I look for in terms of resolution for an ultrawide monitor?
A: For an ultrawide monitor to be considered “4K,” it typically refers to resolutions like 3440 x 1440 (UWQHD) or 5120 x 2160 (5K2K). True 4K ultrawide would be around 5120 x 2880, but this is less common. The key is the wider aspect ratio combined with high pixel density.
Q: Is OLED technology prone to burn-in?
A: While OLED panels can be susceptible to burn-in with static images displayed for extremely long periods, modern OLED monitors have advanced features like pixel shifting, screen savers, and automatic pixel refresh cycles to significantly mitigate this risk. For typical gaming and mixed usage, burn-in is rarely an issue.
Q: Do I need a powerful PC to run a 4K OLED ultrawide monitor?
A: Yes, to take full advantage of a 4K OLED ultrawide monitor, especially for gaming, you will need a powerful PC with a high-end graphics card. Driving such a high resolution and ultrawide aspect ratio requires significant graphical processing power to achieve smooth frame rates.
When you’re ready to elevate your visual setup, a 4K OLED ultrawide monitor is an exceptional choice.
