“I know more than most about computers, but even so, it took hours to get this monitor correctly hooked up to my Dell XPS laptop using a WAVLINK docking station. It gave me an image, but first it was a narrow band stretched out between two large black bars top and bottom. Then it was all correct across the screen, but lower resolution. I asked a LOT of questions to AI search engines and sometimes received conflicting suggestions, but eventually got it all worked out. Total time: Nearly 5 hours, which included many reboots. But, in the end, the 5120×1440 43″ screen looks and works BEAUTIFULLY. Just be prepared as you *may* have to do some troubleshooting to get it working right. My Dell laptop is 3 years old. I would expect less hassle with a newer computer…”

“This monitor is a really great option for high refresh rate and it adds the ability to have G-Sync with the new firmware update from Nvidia. I am very impressed with the quality of the monitor. The RGB light on the back seems really dim, but I didn’t buy it for that feature so I didn’t mind. It is only 1080p and it is a TN panel, so viewing angles are terrible. You need to sit directly at eye level with the screen or adjust it to be square to your eyes. Luckily the adjustments this monitor has are great. It has great height, tilt, and rotational adjustments. The stand is a little wide, so it would be nice to get a VESA mount for it since it has that option. I have not regretted this purchase one bit. If you wanted a cheaper option, 144Hz might not be too bad, but at this price, it was worth it coming from a 60Hz display!”

“The 49 inch monitor is a tremendous upgrade from my last monitor. With almost 4 feet of curved screen, I feel immersed when gaming and productive when working. I’ve used the monitor in two configurations: 1) Split screen mode where two cables (DisplayPort, USB-C, or HDMI) connect to the monitor, with each driving exactly half the screen using PSP. 2) Or, to fully exploit the resolution and refresh rate, I’ve used just the high speed DisplayPort cable for full screen. I prefer the first mode and have both my gaming console and laptop connected. I can easily switch from split screen to either the gaming console or the laptop in full screen using the monitor control panel. In either configuration, the monitor is bright, with fully saturated colors. The control panel on this monitor work better than some. I couldn’t find a way to change from full to split screen in Windows. I could only get it to work via the front control panel on the monitor. If either screen source drops, then the monitor automatically shows the remaining source on both sides. No way to change that I could find. The speakers are adequate but are not high end. The Audio auto switch to active source feature works great. Since I have an old PS4 it works best in split screen mode. The laptop can drive both sides as two monitors or drive it at 3k by 1k resolution. Newer gaming consoles can use the expanded resolution in Windows. It also worked booted into Linux as expected. One KVM that I had could drive the monitor full resolution on DP, but not HDMI. Still it’s a great monitor even with a 5 year old laptop and a PS4. I already had a hydraulic mount that could support the weight and it mounted easily. Did not use the included stand. It is very well constructed and as such is a bit heavy. Recommend getting help to mount it or carry it. At $600 currently, this is an excellent value for the high resolution, fast refresh rate and huge real estate.”

“I had been looking for a new monitor for awhile and had been researching for a new one. I decided I wanted a high quality display, but burn in was a fear I was having for alot of the new OLED monitors since I do a good amount of office work/internet browsing in addition to some gaming. Thats why when I saw this monitor go on sale I jumped onboard. I have been nothing but happy with this purchase as I get the wide screen experience, but still get the height I need for my office work. Much cheaper than the LG and Dell options, yes I know it is a VA panel, but as the monitor sits directly in front of me at my desk I have NO issues with viewing angles or anything like that. A great monitor overall and if you can get it on sale it is a NO BRAINER to purchase. Picture quality is great, screen is bright enough for my office and everything is functioning as I would expect. My 4080 video card truely allows this monitor to shine. Highly recommend for those of you who dont want to risk the burn in of OLED or avoid the high prices of the OLED screens. Obviously those other monitors may have better blacks and brightness, but for the price you won’t be disappointed. I will admit, that like most Samsung monitors/TVs, you do need to do some adjustments to get a more accurate color, but that little bit of work is well worth it.”

“I am very happy with the purchase and it’s worth the money when it’s well under a thousand. I wanted something bigger and higher res for playing games on plus general internet and streaming. This does that great. The color isn’t as accurate as on my previous LG IPS monitor, but sitting side by side I can get it fairly close. Plenty good for gaming and movies. I use the included display port cable and have not seen any flickering on an AMD gpu and Linux. You will need a beefy video card to push this many pixels in games. Picture is not great out of the box. I use Custom: Brightness 40, Contrast 32, Sharpness 15, Color 30, Tint R2, Local Dim high, Contrast Enhance off, Color Tone warm 1, White Balance (-1 r, -2 b), Gamma 2, Shadow Detail 0, Color Space native for Picture looks great. FreeSync on, Black Equalizer 0 on the Game tab. I could maybe get it slightly closer by further tweaking the white balance, but it is close enough to the accurate 34UC88 beside it for me to not bother. I’m happy with it. The cons: I do think the 1000r curvature radius is too steep. I would much rather see it with the 1900r radius of the LG beside it, but that’s not how they made it. The viewing angle could also be better, but I think that is partly a result of the curve as well. There is some noticeable backlight bleed on a completely black screen when you look for it, but I can’t say I even notice it in a dark game like BG3. Considering it can usually be found under 1000, I think it’s worth it. The further under the better. For over it, I think I would try to find something with oled or a flatter curve.”

“My friend likes this display for a long time. When his birthday, he bought it for him as a gift! It’s easy to install it at hand, the four screws of the bracket are completed! The material is very real, it is very sinking up, just be careful when you get it! The display effect is really good, too atmospheric! The 5K resolution is really shocking. Watching TV is super cool and crooked, and the best details of the League of Legends are the most full details. Who knows that when using PS, PR, AI, SW and other software Otherwise, the fonts displayed will be small. The resolution brightness refresh rate is fine, the color gamut is slightly worse, and the color needs to be adjusted separately. After opening HDR, you can adjust RGB in the N card/A card settings, and Win11 can adjust the brightness of non -HDR in the display settings. The poor color is poor and the color needs to be adjusted to the comfortable RGB and saturation”

“I want to start by mentioning that I am not a gamer. I read/watched a lot of different reviews and articles about ultrawide monitors for productivity. What I found is that they are becoming increasingly popular for such functions and are often preferable to two separate monitors. In my case, I work remotely and I have several windows open at once for my job. I was using dual monitors . . . well . . . flatscreen TV’s, which wasn’t super great. I use this monitor for my work laptop with a docking station using Windows 11. I also use it for my Ubuntu Linux desktop. I have it attached to a KVM switch (and there’s good reason for that coming up). I’ll start by saying, now that I have this set up, it’s been a game changer. Obviously, the resolution and refresh rates are way better than what I was using before. Because this is a single, ultrawide monitor, there’s no longer a bezel in the middle (where the monitor separation would be). My setup for both my personal and work computers is awesome. The curve actually helps me pick up more in my peripheral vision so I don’t need to turn my head as much (a benefit for productivity just like it is for gaming). I am a relatively “tech savvy” kind of person. But since I’m not a gamer, I hadn’t had any experience or any need to learn about these monitors prior to now. Because I’m not a gamer, I don’t have insane graphics adapters with ultrafast GPUs. My desktop is heavily customized and the GPU was top of the line . . . 5 or 6 years ago. It does what I need it to do and does it well so I see no reason to drop a whole bunch of money into upgrading at this point. My work laptop is . . . well . . . work. The company provides it and they don’t provide gaming laptops. Why is this important? If ultrawide is new to you, I’m going to save you a learning curve. I had hoped to just connect each of the two HDMI ports to the separate computers. Nope. I have no ability to unlock/change the aspect ratio for my display on either computer. That typically requires a high end graphics card with the appropriate software installed. Ubuntu and Windows don’t do it natively. Because of that, connecting with a single connection does display on the entire monitor but the image is stretched with no real way to adjust it. My graphics adapters just don’t support it. Fret not. There is an alternative. These ultrawide monitors have an advanced PiP feature that allows you to “trick” your computer into thinking there are two separate monitors. You need dual monitor support (most laptop docking stations have it and a lot of newer graphics adapters support it even when they’re not top of the line). The monitor’s settings interface leaves a bit to be desired but at least you get a remote and it does work once you get used to it. Not the worst thing in the world. The nice settings interfaces are on monitors that cost 2 or 3 times as much as this one and again, I’m not a gamer so I don’t care about the latest and greatest. My wallet doesn’t care either. Once I connected the two HDMI ports to the dual monitor adapters and set the PiP to HDMI 1 and HDMI 2, everything self configured nicely in both Windows 11 and Ubuntu Linux (if you happen to plug in the wrong order, both OS’s support you shifting which one is the left vs. the right monitor so you can just line it up – it’s easy). But herein lies the second issue. This monitor has 2 HDMI ports and 2 Display Ports. HDMI to DP does not work unless you are going from an HDMI monitor to a DP computer, so I can’t use the Display Ports. That’s why I have a dual monitor KVM switch. I’m able to connect both computers to the two HDMI ports on the monitor and just switch back and forth as necessary. As I said, I had a serious learning curve and I did end up needing a KVM switch that I wasn’t expecting. Not a big deal. Once you get this thing set up, it should serve you well. Depending on the age and power of your graphics adapter and GPU, you may not be able to use it to its full capability. Not a big deal. It means it’ll still be good if you end up needing to upgrade. I did get the protection plan just because I saw a few reviews that mentioned dead pixels or malfunctioning after a few months. So far, I’ve been really pleased with this monitor.”
